This season the Lady Vikings will be replacing six starters from last year’s team. North will have three seniors this year in Brooke McBrayer, Kailey Coker, and Audrey Tucker. McBrayer will be expected to set the tone defensively, and Coker will play in the midfield and can slide into a striker role if needed. Flexibility will be required of the Lady Vikings, as multiple players will need to play in different spots, especially early in the season, according to skipper, Coach Kyle Robbins.
“We had to replace our entire midfield, and we are going to move some girls around to figure out who best suits what role,” said Robbins. “The first couple of games we will be playing around a lot with our lineups.”
North will rely on a solid core of juniors, as well on Annslee Rhea, holding down the net and playing midfield. Carly Walker will line up as a defender and Hope Culpepper will play up top for the Lady Vikings.
Sophomores Fatima Tovar and Karen Lopez will see time on the pitch, as well as eighth-grader Anne Crotwell, who will play a multiple of positions.
“Ann will play all over and is a spark for us wherever she is on the field,” said Robbins. “They are a really coachable bunch and are buying into moving around a lot and doing what is best for the team. That’s what I am looking for.”
