The art of tea,

whichever way you drink it, or whichever country you are from, has one underlining thread for all of us. It is the cultivation of yourself as you follow the ceremony of preparing your tea, the way in which you make your tea, how and where you drink it, and with whom. Making a cup of tea creates a space for just being. /Nicola Salter/

phenomena occur when two or more rhythmic patterns are combined, and these phenomena illustrate very aptly the enrichment of information that occurs when one description is combined with another. /Gregory Bateson/

How to juice this fruit You’re fine to juice the arils. Cut open the pom (cut in half) and pop out the arils. A good technique is to fill a bowl full of water and take half of the pomegranate and peel back the skin, and the arils will easily pop out.

“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. It is a tool for daily life in modern society. It is a bulwark against poverty, and a building block of development, an essential complement to investments in roads, dams, clinics and factories. Literacy is a platform for democratization, and a vehicle for the promotion of cultural and national identity. Especially for girls and women, it is an agent of family health and nutrition. For everyone, everywhere, literacy is, along with education in general, a basic human right.... Literacy is, finally, the road to human progress and the means through which every man, woman and child can realize his or her full potential. / Kofi Annan/

’’ If you’re playing within your capability, what’ s the point? If you’re not pushing your own technique to its own limits with the risk that it might just crumble at any moment, then you’re not really doing your job.”

“Among the four old bridges that span the river, the Ponte Vecchio, that bridge which is covered with the shops of jewelers and goldsmiths, is a most enchanting feature in the scene. The space of one house, in the center, being left the view beyond, is shown as in a frame; and that precious glimpse of sky, and water, and rich buildings, shining so quietly among the huddled roofs and gables on the bridge, is exquisite". / Charles Dickens/

Art Nouveau, ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry and glass design, posters, and illustration. It was a deliberate attempt to create a new style, free of the imitative historicism that dominated much of 19th-century art and design.

Art Nouveau My mirrow frame made from copper plate with repusse technique during tinsmithing classes in school of visua art in Poland, Rzeszow, 2000.

‘‘What I would like everyone to do, when they see an ibis, is think about the conservation message that they can actually tell us. We’ve mucked up the natural habitat out there, and that’s had a negative impact on a range of a species, but the ibis is one of the few which has actually adapted and changed its behaviour and moved to the coast.’’ /Dr John Martin/
