SOL DE JUNHO 2017 Sol de Junho – translated as the “June Sun” represents the country’s liberation from “those who sought to oppress,” is a line cited from the nation’s anthem. Through an articulation of social mediations by: political, cultural and traditional interventions; an architectonic case-study of a utopic self-sustaining community responds to government imposed displacement of peoples that, can be propagated through the nation. The settlement of Moamba, is used as a critique for the current government “camps” designated to house communities affected by discovery of resources. In collaboration with large international corporations, such camps are birthed with no regard to the contextual affiliations of the communities being moved. Therefore, Sol de Junho serves to: empower the people, preserve culture and instigate community.

CONJUNCTION 2014 Art defines those who cannot express themselves through verbalization and cannot identify themselves in a ruled, programmatic world.Growing up, the arts have always been a part of my life. For me, art cannot be defined in a singular phrase; therefore, I have engulfed myself in many. My creation is a resultant of my young understanding of my limitations and appreciation of its expandability. My experiences reach from theatre, film, visual arts and Architecture. For me, Architecture is not merely a statement of design in its totalitarianism; it defines the commencement of a creative career in many fields and places. My humbly naïve appreciation of the art began at a young age and it enhanced as I became aware of my place in the world and its connection to the arts. Intend to continue to find my voice in the art world, whether it be in Architecture, stage or visual arts.

SOHOGREEN 2016 The platform for the project initiates in the Highline, located in the Chelsea District. Due to its opulence, the area is designated for the wealthy and young. Therefore, by understanding the location’s past, I derived my concept in mind for the average New Yorker unable to afford the spiked apartment budget in the city and its districts. In response to the area and its historic context, the design was derived from the relationship between a community and its surroundings. The project analyzes human interaction within themselves, their context and nature. Vertical farming is an innovative solution for the food crisis we are facing today; therefore, educating the residents and visitors of the site will create awareness and hope for a better tomorrow. Due to its organic nature, the design also implements components from LEED and Living Building Challenge (LBC).

DIVILLA 2015 The design approach is initiated through the comprehension of sustainable affordable housing to vitalize the vibrant artist-based district of River Arts in Ashville, NC. It relates back into LEED and LBC theories, where Net Zero Housing is achieved and successfully maintained. The program focuses on a Net Zero Co-Op, LiveWork housing, where open courtyards and roof gardens allow for continuity between mass and nature. Di Villa, allows artists to thrive in a community based atmosphere, where household tasks are shared and social life is explored. The design activates the concept of: traslucent, void and solid. The relationship between the inside and out is blurred to allow continuity on site, human interaction, vegetation, views and circulation. Activity is radiated into and out of the site, creating a micro and macro “hub allowing for creativity and spontaneity to mesh, creating a symbiotic relationship between the residents and their visitors.

The tower was derived through the Atayal’s belief of the “God’s eyes” motif. The structure is made up of wood and steel, which allows for easy assembly of the entity. It is situated in the furthest point of the boardwalk; therefore its construction and materilality reflects the scenary of its location.

The tower is located near close to the hotsprings; therefore, its composition reflects its positioning. The materialsn used for itys construction consist of: concrete, wood, and steel reinforcement joints. The tower allows for continuity of the urban language surrounding its location on the boardwalk.
The design is derived from the Atayal tribe’s weaving tradition. Its curvaliniarity reflects the the weaving patterns of the tribe, aswell as create a structural grid,
