The term “woke” is not new. It gained traction in the mid-20th century as African Americans used it to indicate a sensitivity for how justice was. and was not applied, particularly regarding racial issues. In my personal lexicon, all of this translates to one word: Empathy.
The word “empathy” does not appear in Project 2025.

It has been my honor to create this day-to-day meme-ery book of the historic election of 2024. I’m sorry the results were not what many of us wanted, but hope we will all continue to work to save our American democracy.
As we return to our “normal” lives, let us give thanks that the processes of democracy have held fast with no violence. May we stay strong and grow ever closer to the ideals of justice for all.
