Aug 8 - Long Beach, CA Mermaiden Camp (ages 13-17), Session 2

Go deeper into the merculture and learn about mermaid opportunities and the lifestyles of professional working mermaids. Includes advanced mermoves, breath control, buoyancy, flips etc. Prerequisite: completion of Session 1

Aug 9-11 - Tampa, FL Mer-Palooza

Family-oriented mermaid convention and pool party, featuring a trade show with things that mers, pirates, faeries and mythical types want; fashion, celebrities. speakers, artists, games, auctions, contests and the International Mermaid Pageant! A Mecca for the mercommunity.

Aug 17 - Sacramento, CA Sacramento Promenade of Mermaids

The 3rd annual Promenade will take place by the Delta King in Old Sacramento at 1pm. (Get there early to register.) Prizes will be awarded for BEST COSTUME for both adult and children’s categories and will be judged by our Grand Marshal. Mermaids, mermen, pirates and all sea creatures are welcome! Aug 17 - Onset, MA 6th Annual Mermaid Ball

Benefiting the National Marine Life Center "This whimsical event features a feast of delicacies, dancing to live music, mermaids, pirates, sea creatures, and much more! The silent and live auctions include an extensive collection of mermaid and ocean-themed items as well as other unique items and experiences for your bidding pleasure. Guests are encouraged to attend dressed in costume or creative black tie for a 'A Guaranteed Whale of a Time!'. Held at The Bay Pointe Club, Onset, MA. All event proceeds benefit NMLC’s rehabilitation, science, and education programs."

Sept 20-23 - Miami, FL to the Bahamas Mermaid Cruise & Dolphin Swim

Celebrate the autumnal equinox with Siren School's last mermaid event of the year. Book early and save nearly $200 off the July cruise. There's a good chance you speak mer and didn't even realize it. The word humans know as "Squeeeeee" is in actuality an onomatopoeic vocalization mers use to express gleeful delight. We hope the images below will evoke just such a response.

Mermaids are extremely proud of their curves, or as they say, waves. When on land they jump at every chance to glam it up, preferably in a wave-hugging gown. Modern mers tend to favor a few particular color schemes: aqua, of course; peachy and neutral colors —perhaps because of their resemblance to human flesh; ooh shiny metallics —hearkening back to their fondness for sunken treasures; and the occasional bold red or orange... just like bodacious human females.
