DETAILS OF SFISO NCWANE’S DEATH REVEALED Sipho Makhabane, gospel singer and close friend to late gospel legend Sfiso Ncwane, has revealed to Hello Metro the details leading up to Ncwane’s death On Sunday, Ncwane was expected to perform at a Kaya FM event held in Roodepoort, but after complaining about not feeling well, he decided to cancel his performance and rush home. “He still wasn’t feeling well when he got home and eventually his wife, Ayanda, decided to call the paramedics at around 6pm on Sunday evening,” Makhabane says. It was at this point that Ncwane was rushed to the Life Fourways Hospital where he spent the night. Ncwane passed away this morning at 9.30am, with doctors citing kidney failure as the cause of death. Makhabane said that Ayanda is trying to be strong. Speaking to DESTINY Man earlier this year about the scandal that surrounded him after he bought his pastor a R1,9 million car, Ncwane revealed that he had suffered a heart attack in January. “I first collapsed in January while on my way to an event in Mpumalanga. I collapsed for the second time while performing in Swaziland, and when I was finally taken to hospital, the doctors told me there was nothing they could do for me and that I was going to die,” Ncwane said. He made a promise to himself that he would thank God in a big way if he survived this ordeal, and when he did, that’s when he decided to gift his pastor with the car. Ncwane is survived by his wife and two sons.

TIPS TO HELP YOU MANAGE FESTIVE SEASON DEBT
HELLO FESTIVE
MONEY TIPS TO AVOID THE JANUARY BLUES
Don’t wait for the New Year to tackle debt, manage your festive season spending and start 2017 financially fit. “Every year we see an increase of about 28 per cent on credit card spending over the December period, but, with careful planning and clever management of this inevitable increase in spending, you can enjoy your festive season without adding to your debt responsibilities,” encouraged Chris Labuschagne, CEO of FNB credit card.
Understand your debt responsibilities now: Don’t sweep your debt responsibilities under the carpet until the New Year, take time to plan your finances. Make a note of all your repayment responsibilities, such as car, home loan and credit card repayments, and make these a priority. Pay these as soon as your salary hits your account, so that these are accounted for. Once the big expenses are accounted for, ”stress test” your budget, which means if you are to add an additional 28 per cent to your credit card, will you be able to repay this and meet all your responsibilities in 2017?
Track your spending: One of the easiest ways to keep tabs on your spending is to swipe your card. Not only is it more convenient and cheaper than cash, it also creates a transaction history that is easy to follow. At all times you have access to money spent on your purchases through various electronic platforms like online banking, cellphone banking or an app. This makes it very easy to track what you have spent on each purchase and to keep tally.
If you don’t use it – lose it: If you are sitting with a large credit limit that you are not utilising, request a limit decrease from your bank; it’s easy to reverse and will ensure that you are not tempted into overspending.
The festive season is aptly named the “silly season” because of a spending frenzy that appears to afflict people over this period‚ says the National Credit Regulator’s Mpho Ramapala. “History has shown us that bonuses present a great temptation to continue buying things that they didn’t plan for‚” she adds. “We strongly encourage people to stop‚ do a budget and plan their spending very carefully‚ especially over this period with a note that January is just around the corner with its expenses.” Ramapala‚ the NCR’s manager of education and communication‚ notes that of the country’s 24-million credit active consumers‚ 9.67-million – or 40.2% - have impaired records.
providers by a window decal (an orange sticker with the NCR logo) and a registration certificate that will also state the NCR credit provider registration number; - Do not leave your identity documents‚ bank cards / pins and SASSA cards with credit providers when applying for credit. This is a criminal offence. Report cases where your bank / SASSA cards and identity documents were taken by credit providers to your local police station; - Be wary of “buy now‚ pay after three months deals” and then incurring additional credit during those three months; - When going shopping‚ have a shopping list to avoid buying unnecessary items; - Prioritise your home loan and rent;
To help consumers not fall into the debt trap‚ the NCR compiled a list of “tips for spending wisely during and after the festive season”:
- Entertain at home. Ask guests to bring something for the meal so you share the costs of your festive entertainment;
- Do a budget for the festive season and include all debt‚ rent‚ electricity‚ water‚ insurance‚ transport‚ gifts‚ entertainment etc;
- Each year‚ set up a separate fund for birthday and Christmas presents as well as holidays. Keeping this money separate will enable you to save for special occasions‚ while at the same time fund your day-to-day living expenses without going into debt;
- Request a pre-agreement statement and quotation when applying for credit. This will enable you to shop around and do a comparison on the cost of credit; - Read and understand your pre-agreement statement and quotation – if they offer you credit life insurance‚ seek clarity on what it actually covers; - Seek loans with NCR-registered credit providers only. You can identify such credit
- Don’t forget to get a copy of your credit report from any credit bureau. This will assist you to know your financial standing. Should you require an additional copy of your credit report within the same year‚ there will be a fee that credit bureaus will charge.

HELLO NEWS PIKITUP SCHEDULE DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON RELEASED
CAPE TOWN’S COPS FACE FESTIVE CHALLENGE Metro police, law enforcement and traffic services will be stretched this festive season as the City of Cape Town has admitted these departments are understaffed. Thousands are expected at the switching on of the festive lights in the city centre tonight and thousands more are expected in Cape Town over the holiday season. Mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith said there was a shortage of staff in every city department . This was due mostly to law enforcement and metro police resources having to take some of the responsibility of policing crime, Smith said.
Pikitup has released a schedule for their refuse collection during the festive period. Residents whose waste collection falls on Christmas and New Year’s Day are requested to take out their bins on 26 December and 2 January 2017 respectively. Normal refuse collection, as well as the collection of recyclable materials will take place on 16 December and the garden sites will be operating. Landfill sites and bulky waste collection services will only resume again on 26 December. All Pikitup services – normal refuse collection, collection of recyclable materials, collection of bulky waste, landfill and garden sites – will not be available on Christmas and New Year’s Day. The CoJ generates about 6 000 tonnes of waste daily, which culminates in approximately one and a half million tonnes of waste annually. With the increased economic activity during the December holiday, a significant increase in the volumes of daily waste is expected. Festive season waste that is not managed responsibly usually result in illegal dumping, which can become a health hazard as a result of fly and rat infestations. To assist the CoJ to reduce illegal dumping, overloaded bins and the degeneration of open spaces, residents are urged to dispose of waste in a responsible manner. Residents are also urged to minimise their waste generation during the festive period and practice the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Pikitup requests residents to familiarise themselves with their local charities to donate unwanted furniture or clothing that are replaced with festive-season purchases instead of throwing it away. In the past, people pretending to be Pikitup employees have demanded Christmas gifts from residents, and, in light of this, residents should not give any gifts to Pikitup employees.
“Generally, there is always a need for more capacity in these departments; however, we will strive to do our best with the resources we have available.” The city has 450 traffic officers, 550 metro police officers and 600 law enforcement officers at its disposal to oversee the entire city’s road network over the holidays. The traffic cop numbers for the Western Cape are just as bleak, with 620 officers expected to be on duty. For a second year, the Mother City has been ranked as the most congested city in South Africa and the 47th worst in the world, the annual traffic index from TomTom indicated earlier this year. Capetonians are said to spend an extra 40 minutes in traffic on an average day compared to other cities. “Our resources are tested during the festive season. We will not have more staff, our staff will work overtime and without their willingness, we would not have been able to pull through,” said Smith. As a result of such overtime, the city’s festive season costs are well in excess of R100million annually. But cleaning up after major events takes a big chunk of cash - R40m, said Smith. Part of the city’s strategy is to set up roadblocks on major routes and in areas with historically high incidence of drunk driving and crashes and on routes in and out of popular recreational areas and events. The city’s traffic services will also join forces with the Western Cape Traffic Department to ensure vehicle and driver “fitness.” This will particularly affect the long-distance sector from December 12 to 24 at Joe Gqabi, Bellville, Intercape and Greyhound bus terminals. “The city focusses on maximising its resources so that tragedies such as road deaths are prevented as far as it is possible to do so,” Smith said. “We are hopeful the experience we have
built up over many years of enforcement will assist in lowering the death toll on the roads. However, it is the behaviour of residents and tourists themselves that will be the major determining factor. “Alcohol consumption plays a large role in deaths from traffic accidents and from drowning and as such residents should be aware that the city will show no tolerance to drunk driving and alcohol consumption on beaches.” The Disaster Risk Management Centre will co-ordinate major incidents or disasters, said Smith. “The city’s disaster risk management team is on 24-hour full alert and is geared for all eventualities. “On days deemed a high risk, disaster risk management staff, volunteers and other rescue resources will be deployed across the metropolitan area at beaches, swimming pools and tourist destinations for crowd control and first aid assistance.” The city will look at water safety, beach and facility cleanliness and the smooth running of large events such as the Festival of Lights, the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament, the minstrels events and New Year’s Eve celebrations. Spokesman for Wilderness Search and Rescue Johan Marais said special attention will be given to rosters to ensure enough trained volunteers will be available around the Peninsula. “There is always an increase in incidents over the festive season, basically because the are more people on Table Mountain,” he said. “There were 374 incidents last year, often more than one a day, and 80 percent of these incidents attended to were on Table Mountain.”

ETHEKWINI IS READY FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON
R20 000 BAIL FOR TRYING TO SMUGGLE R12M
Mayor, Cllr Zandile Gumede said the Festive Season Committee operational plan would be unveiled to showcase the city’s readiness to ensure that residents and visitors enjoyed a safe and enjoyable festive season. eThekwini is ready to host the thousands of visitors, who will be flocking to the city during the festive season. Mayor, Cllr Zandile Gumede said the Festive Season Committee operational plan would be unveiled to showcase the city’s readiness to ensure that residents and visitors enjoyed a safe and enjoyable festive season. She explained that the Festive Season Committee (FESMAC) has put all the necessary plans in place. The launch to unveil the city’s FESMAC 2016 operation plans was held on Wednesday. The launch showcased their readiness as a city for the festive season. “There are 3, 7 million people who depend on us and we must ensure we continue with our service delivery programmes,” she added. Meanwhile, Gumede said the city supported the national campaign of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children. “I invite everyone to be part of activities during the campaign. But we cannot wait for this campaign, we must make sure we have ongoing campaigns throughout the year to assist vulnerable women and children in our communities,” Gumede added. Gumede mentioned a disturbing case that had been reported to her office of a 10 year-old girl who had been raped by her father while her mother was at work. “The father was arrested but sent a message to the girl that he was coming back after his time in prison. We need to love our women and children and give them support 365 days a year. We must also protect men who are victims of abuse,” she explained. A number of events have been hosted in the city since the beginning of the campaign to educate the public and ensure that we move towards a violence-free society.
A 30-year-old man allegedly caught trying to sneak more than R12million out of the country at King Shaka International Airport at the weekend, appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Nadim Aboobaker had apparently boarded a plane, destined for known tax haven Dubai, with luggage filled with money. It is alleged he had not declared the money at customs. Police spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said: “Members received information of a passenger that would be travelling out of the country with a large sum of South African currency without declaring it at customs. “Through intense investigation, the members managed to trace the said passenger.” Police prevented the plane from leaving. Mbhele said they made Aboobaker offload his luggage. He had checked in seven bags which the police scanned. “All seven bags scanned showed the same images of currency,” she said. Police opened the bags and found R12 229 200 in South African currency. The SA Revenue Service (Sars) allows people to carry R25000 into and out of the country. Aboobaker faced a charge of breaking the Currency and Exchange Act.
Nontobeko Duma, of the National Prosecuting Authority in KwaZulu-Natal, said the matter was postponed to January 17 and bail was set at R20 000. Colin Naidoo, the senior corporate affairs manager at King Shaka International Airport, said he was “ecstatic” about the arrest. He said criminals should be wary when they wanted to conduct their affairs at the airport because they would be caught. This is not the first time the Daily News reported on an arrest at the airport of people carrying large sums of cash and on their way to Dubai. Last month, a man was arrested at the airport with R3.9m. Sars spokesman, Sandile Memela, said at that time that the 25-year-old man had been arrested when he was profiled for a routine check. In February, Sars found luggage filled with R7m. Memela said Sars custom officers, together with a baggage handler, had become suspicious when three suitcases scheduled for loading on a departing Emirates flight to Amman, via Dubai, were being removed from the international arrivals hall. They scanned the bags and found R7 049 320, which led to the arrest of a 46-year-old man.

WITH TWO AMGS, BMW X6M AND MANSIONS BETWEEN THEM, JUST HOW MUCH MONEY DO AKA AND BONANG MAKE TO AFFORD THESE? What we already know is that power couple Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Bonang ‘Queen B’ Matheba are loaded, but exactly how much is their net worth? Bonang, perhaps the highest paid host in South Africa, bought her first house in her early 20s. It only got better from there, as she went on to buy a bigger house, being featured on the show she presents, Top Billing. She is a Revlon ambassador and was in the past few weeks named Brazilian footwear Ipanema’s Africa ambassador. She also hosts The Front Row, which features Ask A Man, perhaps the only daily segment that trends on a daily basis. She is also vodka brand Ciroc’s ambassador. Bonang has also been a Woolworths lingerie ambassador, with her range, Distraction for Bonang, proving to be successful, as it has been going on for years now. We would never be able to count the number of presenting gigs the Queen B has bagged this year alone, with the most recent being the Afrimas in Nigeria, though the most-talked about was the MTV Africa Music Awards after she was announced as Comedian Trevor
Noah’s replacement. She reportedly bagged R500 000 from the gig. It does not come as a surprise that she owns a Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and an SUV G63. Her boyfriend, AKA, is just as busy, if not more, leaving us with questions as to how they make their relationship work. We think they should share their secret. The All Eyes On Me hitmaker, one of the most sought after rappers of his time, is also one of the highest paid rappers. He once revealed on Twitter that he charged about R90 000 to R130 000 a performance after fans asked him if he was campaigning for the ruling party for money. Apart from his gigs, his albums
have reached platinum status and has recently left his former record label VTH Season to start his own, meaning he can only get richer from here. If you have been spotting billboards of AKA holding a glass of vodka, surrounded by three women, it’s because he has recently been named Cruz Vodka South Africa’s ambassador. AKA has also recently bought a house and BMW X6M and spends R9 000 on its insurance. With all the money rolling in for the couple, Drum Magazine has reported that the couple were valued at R13.8 million combined. Last year, the Queen B’s net worth was estimated at R7.2 million, while AKA’s was about R6.6 million. But that’s only for 2015 – who knows how much money the couple have made this year.

ZAHARA ‘SHOCKED’ BY MUTHI SHOP USING HER NAME
UNLIKE DJ SBU, CASSPER REALLY IS ON THE COVER OF FORBES MAGAZINE
‘Mama I made it!!! I made it on the Forbes Cover!!!! All the glory to God!!! Black child, it’s possible,’ he said.
Songstress Zahara was left flabbergasted to learn about a muthi shop in Benoni, which appears to be using her name to attract customers. The store, which is called Zahara’s Muthi Shop, has reportedly been attracting a flock of male fans because of its name. When contacted by TshisaLIVE about the shop, Zahara said she was shocked to learn about it. “This is so wrong. I knew nothing about it,” she said. The Loliwe hitmaker found the entire situation incredibly bizarre and shocking. “I definitely have nothing to do with this shop. As a Christian woman I would never be associated with a muthi shop or anything to do with muthi,” she added. Zahara added that she would get her team to investigate immediately and vowed to take action. “This shop needs to remove my name or I will shut it down,” she said. Speaking to Hello Metro the shop’s owner was adamant that the name has nothing to do with the songstress. “People must not think I’m using Zahara the singer as fronting,” the owner apparently told the paper. However, according to the publication, people still flock to the store in support of their icon.
Refiloe ‘Cassper Nyovest’ Phoolo is on the cover of Forbes Africa, and no, he’s not pulling a DJ Sbu on us. He really has made it and could not wait to share the exciting news with his fans on Facebook. He shared a picture of the cover with the caption: “Mama I made it!!! I made it on the Forbes Cover!!!! All the glory to God!!! Black child , it’s possible!!! Go out there and do it for yourself!!! @forbesafrica out now!!!” To confirm the news, Forbes also shared on its Facebook page that Cassper had indeed graced its cover for the December/January issue. “Cassper Nyovest started performing in front of a few people at school, 20 years later he’s filling up stadiums. For him, the best is yet to come. “See full story on the Dec 2016/Jan 2017 issue of Forbes Africa, page 85,” they wrote. The Abashwe hitmaker told the magazine he did not ever want to get to a place where nobody knew who he was, a place we doubt he will ever know. Cassper’s name will go down in history as the first South African artist to fill up the 20 000-capacity Coca Cola Dome. His album also went gold on the same night. DJ Sbu got into trouble with the magazine earlier this year after he retweeted a fake cover of Forbes Africa, which featured a picture of the entrepreneur and an endorsement of his energy drink, Mo Faya. Shortly after, the magazine released statement distancing itself from the cover.

It wrote: On the 23rd of March 2015 Forbes Africa released a press statement informing the general public of a false Forbes Africa cover featuring Sbusiso Leope. The pending issue of trademark infringement and misrepresentation between Forbes Africa and Mr. Sbusiso Leope has attained closure, and has been resolved amicably. The image of Mr. Sbusiso Leope’s with the beverage MoFaya on the Forbes Africa cover (the ‘Image’) contains the unauthorised use of our trademark, brand name and logo. Further, the endorsement of the Image on social media, by posting and retweeting said image, contains no disclaimers and has created much confusion among our readers. While, Mr. Leope admits that he did not create the Image, our fundamental contention is the Image endorsed by him on social media is the unlicensed use of Forbes Africa’s exclusive intellectual property rights. Further, the Image is misleading and represents an affiliation that does not exist and has not been approved by Forbes Africa. Mr. Leope has duly acknowledged our concerns and has agreed to take down the Image from his social media networks. It is also important to note that Mr Leope has made it clear that it was not his intention to mislead our readers. We seek to state that our intentions are purely to safeguard the Forbes Africa trademark and brand name, and protect our readers from being misled by the ‘Image.’ Mr. Leope’s spirit of entrepreneurship has been featured in Forbes.com USA, and we duly acknowledge that. The matter is resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.

HELLO DISKI KHUNE AND BALOYI ARE NOT ON GOOD TERMS
Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is reportedly not happy with Amakhosi’s goalkeeper coach Brian Baloyi’s training methods, which he believes are outdated and mundane. According to a report on Isolezwe on Wednesday, Khune and Baloyi are not on good terms since the former raised concerns about the training routines. “They are not seeing eye-to-eye. Khune complained about Baloyi’s methods. He felt they were out dated and mundane when he compares to how previous goalkeeper coaches in the team did things. That has upset Baloyi,” a source was quoted as saying. Baloyi is a club legend for Amakhosi, having played for the team for over ten years from 1993 to 2004, and groomed Khune while he was with the club’s development structures. He was recently appointed as part of the technical team and works under Brazilian, Alex Revoredo.
RUUD KROL IS OPEN TO TAKING OVER THE REINS AT KAIZER CHIEFS
Reports suggest former Orlando Pirates head coach Ruud Krol is open to taking over the reins at Kaizer Chiefs With pressure mounting on Amakhosi boss Steve Komphela, latest reports suggest former Dutch international Ruud Krol could well be making a return to Soweto, but not to take over at the Buccaneers . Pirates themselves are still on the lookout for Muhsin Ertuğral’s full-time successor, but the Sea Robbers are ready to look past Krol with the 67-year-old now setting his sights on occupying the Glamour Boys hot-seat. According to the Citizen, Komphela’s days at Naturena are numbered with the club having endured a disastrous campaign thus far, following what was a trophyless 2015-16 season. A source has told the South African publication that Chiefs chairman, Kaizer
Motaung, is already looking into Komphela’s possible successor: “He [Motaung] invited agents to bring CV’s and he looked through,” an unnamed source told the Citizen. “He was impressed by former Pirates coach coach Ruud Krol’s illustrious CV and he is the front runner for the job. The only worry is that the fans may not accept him because of him having coached at Bucs’ [Orlando Pirates] previously.” Krol, who won a historic treble with the Buccaneers in 2011, before leaving the club when his contract wasn’t renewed, has also been linked with the Bafana Bafana job. Currently unattached, Krol has achieved considerable success across Africa: winning domestic titles in Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia.
RENEWED HOPE FOR GLADWIN SHITOLO AT ORLANDO PIRATES Augusto Palacios maintains that selection into the Orlando Pirates starting eleven will remain based on performance, throwing a lifeline to Gladwin Shitolo who put in a solid shift over the weekend.

any player, no matter where they are coming from,” he continued. “I will still give players a chance. If a new player comes in and does well then the other one must wait; right now there is a queue of players who want to play.
Shitolo was thrown in for his first start and responded by standing firm in central midfield in the absence of the injured Oupa Manyisa as the Bucs drew 2-2 with Highlands Park. Prior to his first start on Saturday night against Highlands Park Shitolo had come off the bench thrice, yet after impressing the caretaker coach, Shitolo could be in for more gametime for the Bucs.
“One important thing you need to understand with me is that I believe in competition … I don’t believe in names. If the player performs then I will go with him. Mpho [Makola] and Oupa were injured and the performance from Shitolo means you cannot put him out. This needs to be clear that selection is based on performance.
“I have been long in this country and I know South African players: one thing is that when a player is not playing regularly it affects his private life and training. When we are camping on Friday I don’t tell the players who is in the team - everyone needs to bring his bag.

Shitolo will hope to retain his starting berth when Pirates line up against Maritzburg United on 13 December.
