CHART OF COMPETENCIES INFORMATION DESIGN

AN INFORMATION DESIGNER REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO . . . An Information Designer must have numerous skills and talents that can help with the process of making a ad. The Information Designer must be able to see ideas even before they are in motion. Information Designers have to have a sixth sense to know exactly what to do in a situation when it arises. For an Information Designer their day is never finsished, there is always extra pieces of the project, people to see on a reguar basis, numerous copies of the project, and making everything work together until the project is finished. The Information Design Process consists of many steps that help the project move forward. The steps are as follows: Accept the Problem, Research the Problem, Set Goals and Objective, Outline, Ideate/Visualize, adn Execute. Each step consists of many subsections that must be done while doing each step. The process can change at any time there is an issue, that is where the subsections will help move the problem along. Over the years, the Information Design tools have increased and decreased issues that have arose, thanks to the new and more important information that has been developed over the years. The new and old tools will always include Adobe products because they have been used so widely in the past and now into the future. This chart and profile can help individuals with their own skills and determine where they need some help. This chart can be used at any level of management, including coroporate. This can help develop job profiles, professional develpmental programs, and to develop carrer planning programs.

Information design is the skill and practice of preparing information so people can use it with efficiency and effectiveness.

The chart states out responsibilities an Information Design must be able to do and the skills that are required to be an Information Designer. Each level of the chart are followed by subsections that are to help that level on a specific level. This can be used to help projects that Information Designers are working on. These are opinions that a student believes are necessary for doing the job that an Information Designer does on a daily basis. There are more steps to this process, but this is just the main pieces that an Information Designer must possess.
