Charity the big winner from Pelican Waters golf day The Sunshine Coast business community has swung behind a great cause, raising thousands of dollars for charity at the recent Henzells Caloundra RSL Foundation annual golf day.
The grand auction drew spirited bidding, with items including State of Origin packages, holidays and dining experiences attracting plenty of attention.
The Caloundra community stands to be the big winner from the event, with the tally raised adding to the Foundation’s $70,000-plus already distributed to worthy local causes since its inception two years ago.
The event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors including Caloundra City Autos, ANZ, Cardno, Vodafone, the Sunshine Coast Daily and more.
The support from players and sponsors was really encouraging and on behalf of Henzells, I would like to thank everybody who contributed to making the day such a success. Since launching in 2010, the Henzells Caloundra RSL Foundation has hosted two major golf days and two gala balls where it has directed funds to various volunteer organisations and individuals doing it tough. The golf day saw more than 120 players hit the fairways and around 130 guests attended the fundraising dinner and grand auction afterwards at Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters. Caloundra City Autos, Reed Property Group and ANZ Bank were amongst the best performing teams in a fun day on the greens which featured the chance to win a car with a holein-one and various beverages and gourmet treats on the trip around.
Here are the stats for last week: • $70,000 donated to the Caloundra community by the Henzells Caloundra RSL Foundation • 120 golfers hit the fairways for the second-annual charity golf day • 77 open for inspections • 84 groups through open properties • 4 new listings • 13 appraisals • 3 signed contracts
