Just look at this photo Did these people, in their 1964 EH Holden Station Wagon, ever think that Buddina would have developed into the wonderful place that it has? Of course not. If they had, they wouldn’t have bought a new EH Holden for $2660, when at that time a block of land at Buddina was $1980 on a deposit of a mere $50. Today, a very good EH Holden is worth between $17,000 and $22,000. Today, a brand new, German built, Holden Commodore is about $35,000. The median house price in Buddina is $775,000. From My Desk It seems like ages since I last spoke to you all. But now I’m back!! It’s definitely turning into Winter and I’ve got a feeling its only just started. Maybe it’s time to find a tropical island to visit?? I’ve been dreaming of white sand beaches, sunshine and crystal clear water.

Life has been busy both at work and personally. Allison and the PM team have been exceptionally busy and May was huge with a lot of break leases and entry/exit reports to get done. Lucky for me I just get to look after the office while they get stuff done on the outside. I’ve been the one to stay dry lately! Narelle has been working very hard trying to get some new listings after her very successful Auction in Currimundi a couple of weeks ago. As you all know she is a specialist in the Moffat Beach, Dicky Beach, Kings Beach and Currimundi areas. She really does go the extra mile to ensure you are happy with your results. Viv and Sandra are also looking for more homes to sell after they successfully sold a Netherton Street unit in Nambour in the past couple of weeks.

There is still lots of talk about interest rates possibly rising this year. We had better all keep an eye on it. It would be good for the self funded retirees for it to go up but maybe not so good for housing. The Aussie $ is still going down against the US$ so I hope it doesn’t slide too much further. I’ve still got a bee in my bonnet about the First Home Buyers Grant only going to new property. It has been reduced by $5,000 to $15,000 but it should apply over all properties for all buyers, even those who wish to purchase existing homes and units. The market needs to keep turning property over and it’s hard when a substantial amount of prospective purchasers are penalised for not buying a new property.

My darling Daniel has just turned 7 which is so hard to believe. Gabriel will be 9 in August. Where does the time go? They are growing so quickly. Dan is right into his Rugby now as well as the piano and Gabriel is still excelling at Karate and loving the guitar. Daniel got player of the week earlier this month and looks pretty pleased with himself in this photo!
