Before contacting a sales agent, it’s a great idea to take stock of what needs improving around your home to ensure you get the best sales price come selling day. This can be a daunting prospect for some, as the last thing a seller wants to do is fork out a whole heap of money on renovations and repairs only to have the house flop with potential buyers. However, you don’t have to spend a fortune to make an impact in the marketplace. A modest expenditure of roughly $1000 can transform the presentation of a property. Buyers form their first impression from the exterior of the home, so investing your time and money on the landscaping of your garden is a great starting point. If the external walls of your home are looking lacklustre, consider having your home washed by a professional. This is cheaper than having the whole house re-painted, and can look just as good as a lick of paint once the job is complete. Having a well-manicured front lawn coupled with a tidy garden and impressive landscaping

will not only draw buyers in, but can also add value to the property. Spend a couple of weekends unblocking gutters, raking leaves and tending to the garden. Moving inside the home, look at the kitchen space. Organising the cupboards and putting away appliances is a costless way to make your bench space look bigger. If the cupboard and pantry doors look out of date, replace the handles with a more modern alternative. This small swap will improve the space significantly, and should only set you back $150 or less.
