NOW TURN YOUR ATTENTION OUTSIDE You want to create a good first impression. This starts with street appeal. Make sure your home is clearly identified with an easy to read house number, that your letterbox is installed well and in good condition, mow the lawns, prune and cut back trees that require it, weed and mulch the garden beds and make the gardens look tidy in general. If required, get the driveway and concrete pathways pressure cleaned.

KITCHEN & BATHROOM RENOVATIONS DONE WELL ALWAYS ADD VALUE If you are on a tight budget, you might be limited to a cosmetic refresh. Luckily there are all sorts of inventive products on the market for this. ‘The Flood Company’ and ‘White Knight’ both produce a great product system of scuff resistant tile & laminate paint that goes straight over your old tiles and/or laminate cupboards. If the bench top is in good condition, you can also top off with hard wearing surface products or perhaps a ‘Rust-Oleum’ Countertop Transformation Kit might do the trick.

ADD BULK & SCALE WHERE APPROPRIATE Thin little skirtings & Architraves look cheap, so replace them with a wider profile, the plainer the better as the less decorative the easier to paint.

DOES THE HOUSE NEED A REPAINT? Rockcote is a textured render in a bucket which can be tinted to match your colour scheme and eliminates the need to also paint. It can be applied to a variety of surfaces, even fibro. A great way to smarten up an outdated exterior. If beyond your skill, there are lots of local tradespeople to assist with this.

DOES YOUR REAR YARD HAVE AN UGLY HILLS HOIST CENTRE STAGE? Think about moving it to a discreet spot so you can make better use of the yard or if it can be replaced with a fold away style or installed in a wasted space.

It adds great value to a property with our strong focus on indoor/ outdoor living. Make sure it flows from the living or dining area.
