SIMON BALLE ALL-THROUGH SCHOOL, HERTFORD FINANCE OFFICER H4 25 HOURS PER WEEK TERM TIME PLUS 2 WEEKS START – SEPTEMBER 2015 Simon Balle - Creating tomorrow’s citizens today We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Finance Officer to join our Finance team and support the Business Manager. The job will focus on many aspects of school finances but one of the key roles will be managing the administration of school trips. This will involve costing, planning, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and liaising with trip leaders to manage all aspects of trips. The role will also be vital in maintaining the schools financial records and statutory returns to central government. In this respect, attention to detail is required and the successful candidate should exhibit strong analytical skills. The job will use several different specialist software packages (Sage 50, SIMS, FMS) and although a working knowledge of these would be beneficial, it is not essential as long as you are able to demonstrate good IT skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. The school has gone through many changes in recent years and it is vital that the finance team are able to adapt to any external changes in an effective manner. Therefore excellent communication skills are required – as is a sense of humour. Experience of working both in a financial and educational setting is desirable but not essential.
