CAREER OPPORTUNITY Senior Vice President – Generation POSITION SUMMARY Under the general direction of the President & CEO, the Senior Vice President Generation is responsible for directing the operations of the Generation division, which includes production plants (islandwide), operations and maintenance, grid operations management, long term system expansion planning and implementation to include renewables and emerging technologies, and central planning maintenance activities. The incumbent, cognizant of the role the division and company plays in national development, will lead in the development and implementation of the strategic short, medium and long term corporate vision, plans and programs. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the position holder will be a proactive and tactical partner advising on the impact of such plans on the areas of responsibility and overall corporate objectives. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Education
1. Assessment of the Generation plant assets, and development of Operational & Maintenance policies and procedures for plant performance optimization.
• A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent • Postgraduate training in Management (preferred) Experience • A minimum ten years experience in Technical Business Management with at least five years at a senior managerial level in an Energy company • Extensive experience in Electricity Generation
2. Ensures availability and efficient performance of power generation plants on a daily basis. 3. Optimization of System Control and Dispatch.

4. Leads research of emerging technologies.

5. Negotiates and manages Power Purchase Agreements with other generation suppliers. 6. Partners with relevant divisions, including Sales and Marketing, to explore and expand income generating initiatives. 7. Keeps abreast of trends in the economy and advises on their likely impact on the demand for electricity. 8. Ensures that operations are in compliance with company, industry and regulatory standards
