KELOWNA With a population of 106,000 Kelowna is the largest city in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, which is located in the south central region of the province. The Okanagan Valley is located at the northern most end of the Sonora Desert and hence has a semi-arid climate, boasting long warm summers and short mild winters. Situated on the eastern shore of Okanagan Lake mid-way between Penticton in the south and Vernon in the north, Kelowna residents and tourists alike find the lake offers wonderful opportunities for boating, swimming or fishing. The nearby mountains attract hikers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts of all descriptions. Three major ski hills are within an hour drive. Because of the beautiful scenery and abundance of tourist activity, Kelowna is one of the fastest growing cities in North America.

GRAPHICS
The natural beauty of Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley is the most noticeable thing for visitors arriving for the first time, and ultimately what they take away. The main supporting graphic of Kelowna International Airport are curving, parallel lines used to represent these landscapes “taking off and arriving. They can be used to break up a single photograph, or each line may contain a single photo in some instances. When used as a solid form these lines become more subtle as a transparent overlay on a single photo or solid color.
