HONOR GRADUATES
SUTTON TRAVIS, VALEDICTORIAN
EMILY DONALD, SALUTATORIAN
“Being in the Top 10% was a goal that I had set for myself from the time I started high school. I’ve always pushed myself to get the most out of my education that I possibly can. I didn’t want to give anything less than my absolute best.”
“Being in the Top 10% was always kind of a goal. The most important thing for someone whose goal is to be in the top 10 percent is to turn in all of your work. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you don’t understand something.”
#3. HALEY HANKS
#4. KELSI HOOKER
#5. JACK MAHAFFEY
“I started out kind of assuming that I would be in the Top 10%, but staying 3rd all four years of high school just kind of happened. It’s a huge honor to share a spot in the top 10% of the class of 2015.”
“It makes me feel accomplished. My hard work has paid off. My advice to anyone would be to just do your work and youll be surpised how much your grades improve.”
“It brings me a lot of pride to be in the Top 10%. My father has always expected the best from me, so it has been a goal since day one. My advice is dont’ give up because of one bad grade.”
#6. IVY ALLSBROOKS
#7. TRENT MILLER
“My goal was to be the best I could be and it happened. I pushed myself through selfdiscipline and doing my work and was able to get a full ride scholarship.”
“Being in the Top 10% has been a personal goal that I have pushed myself to achieve. I procrastinate a lot, so I had to work around that in order to keep up my grades.”
#8. HUNTER POINDEXTER
#9. BRADLEY HOLEMAN
#10. JAMIE HAWKINS
#11. ELIDA VILLARREAL
“Being in the Top 10% was always in the back of my mind, but honestly, doing all of your work and taking upper level classes gets you there. Start during freshman year to really set the tone.”
“Being in the top 10% means that I have succeeded in reaching a goal that I set for myself years ago. I pushed myself to be in the top 10% by reminding myself of the high standards of my dream school.”
“Definitely my sister and my brother have pushed me, they were both high ranked in their classes and I wanted be like them, smart. Being in the top 10% is definitely a nice title to have.”
#12. ALEXUS HARDY
#13. BAILEY BULLOCK
#14. BRIANNA GWINN
“Finally being sure that my place is held in the Top 10% feels like a breath of fresh air to me. It means that all of my dedication spend towards my school work has finally paid off.”
“I’ve always wanted good grades, but I never really planned on being in the Top 10%. It’s satisfying to be rewarded for all of my hard work throughout the years.”
For someone who wants to be in the top 10% you need to focus, work hard, stay dedicated and remember that every point counts. While youre slacking off someone else is getting those extra few points.”
UIL
“My goal all along was to be a good student who got good grades. Being in the Top 10% shows me how hard I have worked these past four years. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s worth it.”

What teachers will miss about the graduating class By Kim Spradley
“This year’s class is an outstanding class of boys and girls and we are certainly going to miss all of them,” assistant principal Pat Browing said. “It’s a brilliant class, and we will miss their leadership and all the good things that they have accomplished these last four years, but wish them the best in the world.”
“The hard work and the hard workers,” technology teacher Bud Worley said. “And students that put forth effort to really be the best they can be.”
“I think their happy disposition, most of the time, and having good attitudes is what I’ll miss the most,” science teacher Nola Manis said. “
“This class is more mature than most that I deal with,” calculus teacher Stan Davis said. “They spoil me and I’ll miss that.”

If you could start high school over, what would you do differently? “I would probably try to be more outgoing,” senior Victor Moore said. “I would also try to talk to more people I didn’t know and make more friends.”
“I would get all my grades up, and turn in all my homework so I wouldn’t have to retake any classes,” senior Jesus Ayala said.
“I’m really happy with my high school experience, I don’t really want to change anything,” senior Morgan Davis said.
“Pay attention in algebra,” senior Rachel Strauss said. “I would redo all my math classes because I didn’t pay attention and my GPA is low because of it.”
“I would make better friends,” senior Cassity Brittain said. “And looking back I could have tried harder from freshman to junior year that way I would try harder this year.”

O
ver the past four years I am thankful for everything that I have learned while in school. One of my favorite classes was Mrs.Quicks class. I have learned so much from being in this class and not just the boring stuff, I was always updated on the latest gossip, and I got to share the funniest moments with my best friend Caitlin Wills. Being on newspaper staff with her not only was it very memorable but I had the oppurtunity to learn how to take orders from my best friend because she was the editor! Some of the memories that come
ver the past four years, I have had the pleasure of being part of the A-6 family. Participating in such a wonderful program has impacted me in ways that I can’t even begin to explain. I am so thankful that I have had the honor to write for the Carthaginian. I would especially like to thank Mrs. Quick for not only being a wonderful teacher and UIL advisor but guiding me and being my “therapist” when I need someone to talk to. She has influenced for the better and helped me realize what career path I wanted to take. Freshman year in A-6 is where I meet my best friend, Kaitlyn, and being in journalism with her has made these four years not only fun but memorable and exciting. Coming
to mind when I think about being on newspaper staff was writing an opinion column “Kaitlyn vs. Caitlin”, getting car my stuck in mud by Hunter Poindexter coming from a softball game, getting nasty looks from teachers when we interrupt their class for quotes and me and Caitlin were the first ones to learn that Mrs. Quick was pregnant with her second child. I felt like I was party of a family and I’m super sad that this is my last year, I know I’m definitely going to miss the A6 Family!
up with ideas for a “Kaitlyn vs. Caitlin” column sophomore year and sorting out the crazy, bad ideas from the good ones was not only stressful but usually very funny. When I think about the time spend in the A-6, where I spend more of my day than I did in class, so many memories come to mind. Everything from hearing the latest school drama to going to every football game with Lexie and Mika. We were always referred to as the “camera girls”, even though we gave ourselves the unofficial title “sideline sweethearts”. I will never forget the time Lexie and I got tackled at the game against Henderson and it was on the jumbotron. I am forever grateful for the memories that we stay with me my whole life.
