JUNE
LTG GREETING LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR JACQUELINE THARILKILL
Hello Everyone! Welcome to my June Newsletter, how has your summer been so far? Personally I have been SUPER busy, I had my first internship and now i'm at ICON in DC. It's been so much fun meeting new people and getting to see my fellow LTG's!
As some of you might know, I plan on attending a few club meetings starting in the fall so I will be trying to plan with each of your clubs when a meeting is and how I can attend (hopefully with my EA). If I cannot attend in person I will try to coordinate over zoom!
UPDATES TO LOOK OUT FOR. If your club has any service/meetings over the summer, let me know and I see if either myself or my EA cann attend! Im always looking for service spotlights to add into my newsletters or if any of you guys have service ideas that you need help planning please let me know! Im happy to help.
Other than that I will keep you guys posted. Please look at my bi-monthly weekly updates because they have important information for your clubs. I've also added a service idea PDF latter in the Newsletter (credit to LTG Steven down in D7). Have fun with these, work with your friends!
ICON RECAP: ICON was spectacular! The expiriance taught me so much including how important spreading awareness for it is so that more people know about ICON, and clubs are able to fundraise for it! Please see Weekly Update #13 for more information!

Governors Project:
What can D19 do?
1. Host a fundraiser 2. Create a shoe drive 3. Spread awareness to our community via socialmedia
At Soles4Souls, we turn unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunities by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use.
District Project: We’re a global community that believes everyone deserves access to quality education. We’re reshaping the landscape of education.
District Endorced Projects: Kiwanis Kamp "Kamp Kiwanis is a summer camp in the heart of Upstate New York. We serve youth 8-17 years old and adults with special needs in one week long sessions. "
Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation "The Lyme Disease Project was quickly set up to help pay for medical treatment for children with this disease. Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not pay for its treatment, which is very expensive. Our support is funded through donations from Kiwanis Clubs and individuals and channeled into the Pediatric Lyme Disease Fund. We have 27 active grants for children with the disease."
Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center "The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center Foundation, Inc., is one of three KPTC programs operating in the New York District of Kiwanis. The foundation supports pediatric trauma efforts at the Cohen Children's Medical Center as well as programs throughout the area to protect the safety of children and to improve the ability of local emergency medical services response teams."

Division 19 Service Spotlights: Division 19! During ICON, Representatives from Division 19 participated in assembling cooling packs for the homeless in DC, which will be distributed at local service centers to help combat the humid and hot DC summers. They also donated tons of children's books and created bookmarks out of origami paper for children of all ages to use while reading.
