SUMMARY The 21st century is known as “The Age of the City”. This phenomenon is characterized by the increasing number of people moving to urban areas. The global migration of products, people, and ideas across international boundaries is having drastic implications on culture. The U.S. - Mexico border as a whole is ultimately dividing two sides. The “Border Wall” is ignoring the border region’s history and culture as well as rejecting the new immigration and globalization patterns. The way that people interact, connect, and communicate along such a divisive force is fundamental and especially important along one of the world’s most contested international borders.
