he coming of New Year signals a time for resolutions and new beginnings. Here are some ideas to make the most of the next 12 months by starting with a clean, organized, and healthy home: 1. Prepare a decluttering schedule. Set a schedule for the whole month of January and mark it on the calendar; or save a reminder on your mobile phone to make sure you won’t forget. 2. Set a time for the task at hand. You can follow the top to bottom rule wherein you clean the upper part of the house and then sweeping and mopping the floors. Setting a time for each task doesn’t mean you have to feel pressured by the clock. 3. Work toward achieving a bright and clean home. Inspire yourself with the thought that having a bright and clean home
will allow you to relax and do the things you love. A clean home promotes wellness and positivity as well as helping you to focus better. 4. Sort out your things. Prepare three boxes or bins and label them accordingly. Decide which things to keep, throw, and sell. 5. Donate the things you don't need anymore. Decide which decluttered items s can be donated to organizations like Segunda Mana, Habitat for Humanity ReStore Philippines, Philippine Toy Library, and the Philippine Red Cross. 6. Learn by watching some decluttering inspirations. The Japanese KonMari method taught us some ideas how to make decluttering easier. You can also watch Tidying Up with Marie Kondo to get a dose of decluttering to page 2 inspiration.

7. Make space for new memories. Liberate yourself and make space for new memories by letting go of certain things with sentimental value and the memories attached to it. 8. Get some bins and organizers. Invest on bins and organizers to help keep your things in order. 9. Try the Swedish way. The Swedish concept of Lagom
focuses on everything in moderation. Practice Lagom at home by prioritizing the essentials and find space for things that serve a purpose. 10. Keep things light and fun. Keeping things light and fun will surely make decluttering manageable. Reward yourself once you’re done with the task, like a trip to the spa or enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant.
