ABOUT M E :

My name is Laura, I’m a translator and I love my job. Translation is a bridge between cultures, a communication channel that overcomes any barrier, and I like to think of myself as a part of the chain that makes this enriching interaction possible. Translators often live in between two different worlds, alternating in a double life, multiple personalities. We are usually invisible characters, but we are key in bringing people, places and countries together. We make literature, movies and art travel from one place to the other so that everybody can enjoy them. And I love to be a part of such a noble purpose. That’s why I put a lot of effort in every task I undertake. Apart from loving my job, I’m passionate about traveling and books, which somehow are perfect complements, since every new destination I chose (flying or in the library) provides me with cultural and intellectual diversity, a basic pillar of what I do. Moreover, I consider myself a creative person. I like to experiment and play with the text someone else wrote, but being strongly committed to the message conveyed and respecting the author as well as the original piece. And, even when my life is about fighting with time non-stop, I would choose this professional career again.
