Sales management.... Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort,” this represents the breeders of the Quality Control Sale as they have offered their very best for this first class event. For years they have been strategically mating their programs for shear quality and we are excited to offer this event to highlight their accomplishments. For the inaugural sale, I can confidently say that not a corner has been cut and only the very best are coming to IRCC to be represented. The Elmhirst family is synonymous with championship quality genetics in Ontario and throughout North America. Their Simmental division operates under Indian River Cattle Co and through 20 years of breeding, they are recognized as one of the most dominant programs in the show ring in Canada. They have successfully ran an online female sale in years past and as we transition to a live event, nothing was left to chance and only the best are offered. Majority of their show string will sell and what a dominant show season they have had and their accomplishments are far from done. Not often do cows of the quality of Lot 1 become available, along with red donor prospects such as Lot 2 among many many more. IRCC has invited many top producers to join this special event to stack more quality into this sale. These 14 breeders have the same quality over quantity approach and have dug deep into offering the best. Many of the breeds leading donors are represented and cow family quality runs deep as CAS Hugs N Kisses 1W, RF/RU Flirtin 304A, Sun Rise Black 45R, 3D Miss Good 211S, TSN Ms Edition 55W and Barlee Abbey Road just to name a few. Whether it is open prospects, bred heifers or frozen genetics that you seek; we can’t emphasize enough the depth of quality that this sale has on offer. Quality Control is an event that we have great excitement for and encourage you to make the trip to beautiful Indian River, ON for the hospitality and great Simmental cattle. We can’t emphasize enough the depth of quality from 15 respectable breeders and know there will be many success stories that result from it. If you can’t make it sale day, feel free to use our professional order buying services and we will represent you with the utmost integrity. See you at the Quality Control for one of the highlight events of the entire Simmental sale season!

Welcome from IRCC

Welcome to the first live female production sale at IRCC. For over 20 years now we’ve been building and planning for this event to offer the Simmental industry a special set of beautiful, productive, competitive females that will collectively knock your socks off. We at IRCC have sorted our offering straight off the top of the herd and have also virtually emptied the showbarn for Quality Control. Our good friends and consignors have followed suit and as a group have put together a set of sale cattle to impress even the most discriminating cowmen. Our breeding philosophy has not wavered since we started this herd together in 1996 and Flo-Lar before that. Sound, functional, practical cattle that are problem free, low maintenance, productive and good looking. We are competitive by nature and insist our cattle have the structural integrity to impress the harshest critics in and out of the showring. While we have had great success chasing banners, we are most proud of the 9 consecutive Premier Breeder banners awarded at the Royal Winter Fair from 2007 to present. Livestock is all we do at IRCC, every penny earned is from a cow so as you turn the pages and ponder the possibilities, you can rest assured while some of these females may look like like runway models they can still cook and clean. We sincerely hope you can make it to IRCC in mid October to evaluate this stellar offering. We are excited to be working with BOHRSON Marketing and are only a message or phone call away to assist you with your participation in Quality Control I. We have opened the vault and invite you to be with us October 16 to explore the opportunities available.

Wide made, bold sprung, stout one here that has been the dominant heifer calf at the early shows. She ties that power with balance and a nice look out of her front end to give her that competitive edge. She was the All Breed Jackpot Heifer Calf Champion at Millbrook in June and then was the Heifer Calf Champion at the YCS Trillium Classic in July. Her dam has been a no miss mother cow and as a 2 yr old raised our high selling bull that has been the head honcho at RK for a number of years. Shown by little Miss 5 yr old, 31 lb - Shelby Crawford at the YCS, this heifer has a sweet personality and will make a highly competitive junior project next year. Greatness!

Have to be a blind man to miss this one sale day. She is the real deal. Linebred to our 2011 Royal Champion Female, Xcella , this heifer has the class, power and look to stop you dead in your tracks. Long and elegant out of her front third, she transitions into a big bold cage and ends level and wide. On the ground she is poetry in motion with flex, reach and accuracy as she goes. Just a March baby she topped a class of 18 her first time out and followed Lot 1 to the Champions circle. Just recently she was slapped Calf Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Female at the New York State Fair. Out of the Jr National Champion and Royal Reserve Champion Bull she is destined for glory, so jump on here and enjoy the ride. Out of a hard working young cow, we have a full sister to this lot as our junior yearling in the show barn that is undefeated in class this year and recently was declared Supreme Champion at the New York State Fair. This one’s gonna fit right in the wheelhouse of most everybody because of her substance and size. Lot’s of family history run through her bloodlines as she doubles up to the original Kern cow that is responsible for most of the hardware and banners kicking around here. If you like them compact and cowie, you best put a check or two on this one. Bred to GSC All In 72A on April 10. Exposed to IRCC Sandman 613S from May 26 to July 18

Tough to poke a hole in this one. Right size, right build, right dimension, right attitude and right genetics. If I could have 200 like this gal I’d be tickled and at the end the day (if we had last year’s calf prices) rich too. You just can’t make them any more complete, with just the right balance of muscle and maternal. The good cowmen will find her sale day, lets see who they are. Bred to GSC All In 72A on April 20. Exposed to IRCC Boomshakalaka from June 1 to June 25

Check the age on this gal and appreciate her performance and substance. Well developed and grown out for one that had to fight with much older heifers all winter, she has that mother cow get r done instict. She stems from the same cow family as the impressive Desert Rose Lot 3 heifer calf and her dam was a beauty uddered first calf heifer that now works for Rick and Marj Haus. This breeding piece is positioned to be the power cow in our donor pen for the foreseeable future. Bold and buxom in her build she offers genuine muscle and shape in a good looking, clean made, attractive package. Genetically she varies from mainstream bloodlines, and that combined with her extra dimension makes her the kind of female to manufacture a big time outcross herd bull from. She was the 2014 Trillium Classic Reserve Female, the Royal Futurity Champion, the Reserve National Calf Champion and a Jr National class winner in 2015,so her ability to rise above her contemporaries is obvious. Her monster bodied heifer calf is proof of her breeding and mothering ability so any guesswork here is all but eliminated. Here is the future at IRCC, join us here to reap the benefits. Our black sale feature for sure .Her dam comes from the Autumn Classic Sale as a high seller from the O’Neill’s .We liked the Stubby dams and we knew a lot about the Red Light cow as we had bred her.The WFL Absolute breeding worked well. 8C is a carbon copy of her. Read the EPD’s the footnotes whatever. Just look for her sale day, you’ll like her. Her early breeding on March 25th to CCF VISION could be the next great baldy. Vet checked safe to A.I. date.

EPDs CE 4.4 BW 4.4 WW 78 YW 118 TM 59 First we would like to thank the IRCC family for offering to include us in their prestigious sale, and the Bohrson gang for thinking our cattle are worthy enough to be picked. We have been in the cattle industry for many years but are new to the Simmental breed and are happy to have joined this great family of breeders. That is why we have decided to offer up 2 of our very best. Flush sisters from our lead donor cow and $12K purchase from Friday Night Lights, Barlee Abbey Road (680s x CAS Hugs & Kisses) and sired by the great JF Milestone 999W. Abbey was a many time champion as a calf and yearling, including National Reserve Junior Champion at the 2014 Royal. 5D is a super deep, soft bellied, feminine show heifer and her sister 2D is a tremendously stout, wide topped and powerful cow prospect that will stamp out those high selling herd sires. Sisters have already sold for $11K & $15K. We have flip-flopped all year on which of these females is our pick, but now it’s up to you to decide which one you will take home.
