Sales management.... The IRCC family has come back in 2018 with a loaded offering for the 2nd Quality Control Simmental Sale. You are getting access to their very best females from their 2017 calf crop with a stacked group of bred heifers and the cream of the crop from their 2018 calves that are being offered to showcase the absolute strength of their program. We have the utmost respect for the Elmhirst family but they don’t pull this exciting sale off on their own as they have invited many of the breeds outstanding breeders to offer the heart of their herd in which has resulted in a high class event. The 2016 Quality Control Sale was electrifying which saw cattle sell from coast to coast in Canada plus into the USA. It is always difficult to duplicate the success of a sale like that but we strongly feel that the 2018 offering is as good and even better with depth of quality in multiple donor prospects, bred heifers, fancy opens plus genetic opportunities through embryos and flushes. We feel that these genetics can elevate the most progressive programs and add value as they are bred for profitability with genetics that are known to produce and have that extra style and eye-appeal to them. This weekend is one of our most enjoyable sale weeks of the year as we are able to combine the elite sales in Quebec on Saturday with this exciting event on Sunday and we encourage all progressive breeders to attend both and take advantage of the high quality cattle on offer with outstanding hospitality. Welcome to Quality Control II at IRCC. After the roaring success of our first sale we had no idea how we’d ever top that stellar lineup, but after a year off to regroup I think we have. We’ve condensed our offering to only the elite. Fewer numbers - much higher quality and that is what this sale is all about. The decision to offer the lot 1 cow was not taken lightly, she is potent - ask anybody who has seen her, and I mean anybody. Darlin’ and Flirtin’ are poised for a serious fall show run and beyond that Darlin’ has all the make up to be a world class, breed leading donor for many years to come. The bred heifers on offer throughout the catalogue are big time and I’d confidently say will be as deep and well bred a set as any sale catalogue you’ll open this fall. Plus almost everyone of them is serviced to a breed giant for an early return on your investment. The babies will speak for themselves. We’ve not gone to a show anywhere this year where the sale offering hasn’t been Heifer Calf Champion and Reserve. We will award some Junior incentive money sale day and have ramped up that program to encourage more young show people to reap the rewards of a show heifer out of Quality Control. Special Incentives will apply to the YCS Classic in Quebec next year as well as bording opportunities for juniors out of province. The frozen genetics that conclude the offering are the future and bolster a lot of genetic punch. The success stories from QC I are many as the photos on the back page capture some of that glory highlighted by the Reserve Supreme Jr Breeding heifer - Cherry Bomb, that Double Bar D have been successfully flushing since. Even more rewarding though, has been the producing ability of the bred females sold. The Camerons, the Botts, the Watsons, the Youngs, the Ranciers, the Davis family, the Ridlers, the Macronalds, the Crawfords, the Dedeckers and the Gibbons, plus many more have shown, sold or built their program with high quality individuals out of IRCC females. And I just cant wait for everyone to see the 5 cows on display in the front runs sale day. If Darlin’ (lot 1), Delicious (lot 6), Debutante (lot 21), At A Girl (lot 23),and D-D’s (lot 42) plus their calves, don’t make your heart race a bit, then I’m not sure what would. This True Grit daughter is among the nicest made cows here, bold in her rib, square hip, neat udder, quality foot and joint structure. She ties all this together with some extra extension and maternal look through her head and neck. In 2018 she raised a Defender heifer calf that runs right in the front end of well over 120 spring born heifer calves at Double Bar D. This will be the first opportunity to purchase a service from the newly acquired Broker son from Rehorst Farms. While he may not have received quite as much press as some of the other herd sires here we feel this bull will play a large role in the future.
