Indian River, ON We are super excited to present this year’s offering for the Source for Quality Bull and Female sale. 2020 has already shown us that this new decade is full of optimism, and good times, ahead for the beef industry. Along with that, mother nature has been very cooperative after absolutely blasting us throughtout the entire year of 2019. This set of bulls are easily the most consistent, fault-free and useful bunch that we’ve ever offered. Their total completeness, soundness, temperment and documentation for calving ease combined with growth is what we strive to produce. These economically relevant traits that we have spent our lives building off are designed to add true value to our customers who choose to add a bull from this sale to their herd. The Elmhirst family are dedictated and passionate about the production of superior beef genetics. Three generations on a daily basis care for, manage, and research genetics on our herd of 175 mother cows. We are all in. Its all we do, its how we earn our living. Our increased cow herd size, plus the addition of another 10 Angus cows allows us to offer more females this year that represent the maternal strength of all our breeds. We’ve changed the format to an evening sale later in the spring to hopefully get away from some frigid temperatures so feel free to come early and have a bite to eat, some refreshments and evaluate the sale offering. We don’t part with too many Boom daughters, so seize the day. OK this is the spring sale superstar in case anybody was wondering! These Licorice cattle have made quite a name for themselves in show rings and sale rings around here lately. Last year’s sale topper and full sister to the Metske family ended up her year with a red ribbon at the Royal, while Maple Stone rocked Quality Control when they sold a $19500 Licorice from the same family. This heifer is stout, big bellied, well balanced with a really nice “Look”. We can’t wait for you to see her and might get her to the JR Beef Expo.

We ran out of time getting a picture of this one but she is much like her sister pictured here that we sold last year to Crooked Creek farms. This year’s model is higher performing and has a bunch to her but missed getting splashed with white paint on her forehead. Really nice cow prospect here out of a nice uddered daughter of the Semex bull El Toro.
Bit of an experiment here to sell a bred heifer that will most likely be calved by sale day. The calf will be sired by STS Uprising 700F. As our cow herd balloons to 175 cows we have more options and as the cattle market soars ahead and grass looms on the horizon who wouldn’t want to add a young, attractive, healthy very well documented female into your program. She stems from a real good family, the Briands that have been utilizing IRCC genetics for some time and by the structure and appeal this lady has, I’d say its working pretty good.

I figured she is young would, make a really nice junior project but needs time and feed. But then .. BAM.. you get a nice day, blow her out, tear off some tag, carve some lines in her, oil her up, kick her out and suddenly you realized you’ve under estimated one.
