Heifer Lottery 2013

Elmlodge Polled Herefords Welcome Almost every sale catalogue welcome basically reads the same......great ones sell, best ever, deepest quality, something for everybody and etc. Well this year is different, instead of all that generic rhetoric I encourage you to simply start turning the pages and at the same time open up your mind and allow yourself to dream. We’ve used that same AIM HIGH …. DREAM BIG approach in our advertising because after all aren’t all cattle breeders really just DREAMERS. Some dream of beautiful nice uddered cows grazing the front pasture, some of a stout herd bull he can show the neighbors, others dream of big heavy calves at weaning time and most of us (just admit it) dream of glory, the big slap and the photo backdrop. All dreams need a place to root and if the last 11 years are any indication Source for Success has been the place where many Dreams have started. As per usual check the back cover for pictures of some dream days. One of those pictures is of the 9th Royal Winter Fair Champion sold in this sale. Dreaming is natural, normal and healthy and I’m proud to say I dream as big as anybody, just ask my family. And as a dreamer I encourage each one of you to ponder the sale lots and reach out and dream about where you want your Hereford program to go. It should be easy for you Junior members to dream about winning Bonanza or Junior National next year when they are both so handy here in the east. Life is short so AIM HIGH …. DREAM BIG and give us a call to see how we can help make

your DREAMS COME TRUE!

Sire: ELM-LODGE RESULTS 80R Dam: ABBY-HILL GLOBAL SNOWGIRL 2X EPDs CE 0.8 BW 4.6 WW 47 YW 85 MM 12.7 TM 36 Richly bred female here out of the 2007 Royal Reserve Champion Bull and on the dam’s side going back to the famous Snowgirl’s from GoldBar. Expect years of solid problem free production from this well made young female. We were too busy in the corn field to get a picture for the catalogue but offer our best bred heifer, so check her out sale day. (The corn is looking good and if mother nature keeps the frost away, count on another feast of Abby Hill corn after the sale)

EPDs BW 5.1 WW 56 YW 97 MM 18.6 TM 47 417Z is the seventh generation of the Henrietta cow family here at Grosvenor. The Henrietta cow family has been a very productive, hard working family with excellent udders and milk flow. 417Z, sired by the popular Bailout bull has the look we have been after, she’s cool fronted long spined, wide topped wrapped up into a super sound package. We think she is big time! Bred to TH 71U 45P MR Hereford 11X on May 29th.

We believe that this heifer is every bit as good as her popular sister. This Mr Hereford calf is a very big ribbed easy fleshing female, maternal type female. She is sure to make her new owner happy be it in the show ring or in the pasture doing what the Temptation cow family does best.

The dam of 1125A is sired by Online 122L who has sired some outstanding females in many herds around the world. Readymade 72R is one deep sided, angular female but the most impressive thing about her is her beautiful udder still at the age of nine. Looks, maternal, longevity this female has what pays the bills.

EPDs CE -1.0 BW 4.8 WW 59 YW 94 MM 20.9 TM 50 This is a younger heifer calf but don’t hold that against her. She has a dam with a stacked pedigree with breed greats like StarAmerica, Heat 101S and Patriot. I think this heifer calf has a nice look to her, long spined but still spring of rib, clean fronted and she is nicely marked. Kathy 220A is also sired by Bailout 144U who is just one more proven sire to add to her already outstanding pedigree.

Xhale 226A is lazer straight across her back and clean cut in her lines. Her dam was one of the high selling yearlings from Elmlodge two years ago, right behind last year’s Grand Champion Female at the Royal for Trent Hill. Remember one thing when you see her sale day..... big things come in small packages.
