Elmlodge Polled Herefords Welcome It has been one heck of a year since I last wrote the welcome to Source for Success. Thank you to one and all who helped make last year’s sale a record breaking event with a great demand for quality Hereford cattle. The 2015 fall show season was a showcase of genetics and animals from previous sales that captured some of the most prestigious awards. While you can as always check the back cover for proof of past successes, the back to back wins in Toronto and Regina with Boom Boom will be moments we will never forget. Congrats to Bill and Marie Down for selecting her when she was just a baby. Winter came next with a little more reasonable weather, and then when it looked like spring would never end, the rains quit, and for the first time in my life just have never come back. All the while that Hereford cow has flourished, because they are the hardy, low maintenaince breed we all love. This years offering is loaded with the kind that can survive and produce in harsh environments and still go to town to play. Check the bull calves this year, with a 2/3 bull calf crop you can bet we’ve got some extra special ones that could improve any program in the business. Plan to be with us to capitalize on the glorious genetic opportunities available and enjoy some Hereford hospitality in beautiful central Ontario. If we can assist you in any way to make your participation in Source for Success XV easier, feel free to contact us. Striking, cool, stylish- it doesn’t matter what word you use this guy makes you look at him. It could be his box car build or extra hip shape or herdbull front end or even his perfect markings with pigment. It just all fits. His dam was that dominate show heifer of 2013 that won the Royal futurity and was National Heifer Calf Champion as a baby, then won Youth Forum all breeds and was the Senior yearling Champion at Bonanza. She has matured into a prototype beef cow with a beautiful square udder and ideal teat size. His sire Alleghany created quite a stir himself and has bred very well. Part of the show team, the sky is the limit here with a unique pedigree and awesome look. BW 76 lbs. Terms to be announced.

Soft, soft made, cowie one here that can live on fresh air and snowballs. Her dam absolutely never misses and had a favorite last year to Jory Donovan. We used Redeem to get females to keep as they work and last evidenced by his 13 and 15 year old dam and granddam that were features of the Loewen dispersal. She was supposed to stay but mother nature short changed us on heifer calves this year( and mom wants a new garage) so this no miss cow prospect sells.

The only reason this piece sells is to help make our advertising dollars work. We all thumb through countless magazines looking at blasé ads with nice cows, but then... BAM, you come across her and the hair on your back sticks up. Yah thats right. Pay attention, this is extraordinary. This two year old is powerful, freaky long including her neck, heavily pigmented, level made and possesses one of the most picturesque udders you’ll ever find on a beef cow. For a Revolution she is rare in terms of dimension, growth and shape while we all know how maternally sound that genetic line is. Raising a sweet one carrying an exciting service it’s time for serious Hereford breeders to step up. Bred to CRR Catapult 109 on May 13.

Out of the show barn, she has the pigment, correct structure, soundness and added look to be a lot of fun as a junior project next year. What an opportunity to buy a foundation female. Just study her pedigree and you will see the direct relation to the great 528N Nellie cow. Her dam also produced the $20000 bull for Barefoot. If that is not enough she will be one of the few Outcross females to sell in Canada. Exposed to JDH 4X Ultimate 236Z 94B from april 30 to June 30. Observed bred May 5.

We are excited to be consigning our first animal to this sale. This heifer calf is out of a 719T cow and sired by a Lambert Remedy bull. Both were purchased through the Source for Success sales. Dazzle has been an eye catcher from day one and just continues to improve. She is dark red and goggled -eyed. She has been out to a few shows this summer and is eligible for the ECOHZ and RAWF futurity classes. She would make an excellent Sr yearling show heifer for a 4H member.
