will restore leadership and accountability to the Sheriff's office to protect Orange County families. Reforming our jail system to keep criminals off our streets Mter 21 years in the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Bill is tired of seeing inmates released back into our community early because of space and budget concerns. He'll ensure that criminals stay in custody for the duration of their sentence and force all pre-trial inmates to pay their bail prior to release. Bill will also reduce overcrowding by feeding inmates in their cells and ending bed leases with the federal government.
Cutting waste without compromising public safety In this economy we must eliminate unnecessary spending to provide better services at a lower cost to tax payers. That's why Bill will eliminate frivolous perks such as bloated pensions for senior officers and take home cars for non-first responders. Bill will also charge inmates for medical treatments and require criminals to post bail for misdemeanor crimes.
Protecting our Second Amendment rights Bill believes strongly in the Second Amendment right to personal protection. As Sheriff, he will upl;l.Old those rights by issuing CCW's to any law abil:ling resident that can legally posses a firearm and meet county requirements.
