P O N O MINI The “Pono Mini” is a great “Surfer-Mini-Cruiser-Skateboard” with a wide range of abilities. The artwork was created by Erik Abel a renown surf artist. ERIK Bold colors, geometric patterns, and botanical profiles capture the eye in Erik Abel’s artwork. Inspired by his love of the ocean, surfing and travel, Abel’s work articulates the spirit of the water and awe of nature. His roots as a California surfer intermingle with his experiences living in the Pacific Northwest as well as traveling to the South Pacific and Central America, imparting an organic, tribal style to his subjects and compositions. Upon a closer look, Abel’s graphic imagery unfolds to tell the story of his paintings. Accents peak through unexpectedly revealing the layers of color Abel cloaks in each piece while loose strokes of colored pencil and marker create dimension. Abel now lives and works a few steps from the Pacific Ocean along the rugged Oregon coast. His original pieces have been featured in galleries across the country while his commercial work has attracted clients including Patagonia, Reef, REI and Billabong. Currently Abel is focusing on giving back to environmental and humanitarian projects through nonprofit partnerships, exhibitions, and commercial projects.

M A N A CRUISE The MANA CRUISE is our freeride board developed in with our teamrider, Fabian. Many of our customers like the MANA for cruising, this is why we decided to ad the cruise version to our program with the 78A wheels. This set up turns the MANA CRUISE into a great cruiser for higher speed and high speed slides. The symmetrical shape of the board allows riding the MANA CRUISE in switchstance and the mini kicks at the end allow some tricks. The drop deck lowers the center of gravity which increases stability and makes the board easier to push. The MANA CRUISE is a great combination of a top mount board (better grip when carving) and the easy handling of a drop through board.

MANA The Mana (Hawai’ian for power) is our new freeride Board developed in cooperation with our teamriders. The focus of this board is fast freeriding and sliding which is supported by the strong concave of the drop deck. The low deck keeps the center of gravity closer to the street which results in a better stability and riding comfort. The deck’s camber supports the flex. The symmetrical shape of the board allows riding the MANA in switchstance and the mini kicks at the end allow some tricks. The MANA is a great combination of a top mount board (better grip when carving) and the easy handling of a drop through board. Combined with the 83A wheel is the Mana the perfect free- rider no matter if you like to cruise along the street or if you are a hardcore powerslider.

H O K U SLIDE The flex levels and its shape makes the Hoku (Hawai’ian for Star) a perfect allrounder for longboarders of all ages and weight class. We now also offer the HOKU as a set up for sliding and freeriding. The only difference between this version and the regular HOKU, are the wheels. We mounted our 83A HUI wheels on this setup for easier sliding for beginners as well as advanced riders, without loosing the comfort of a cruiser board. The concave of the deck locks the feet perfectly in place for a solid stance. We consciously offer this version in only two flexlevels, as harder decks are better for sliding and freeriding in general.

WA I L A N I The extraordinary bamboo-maple-fiberglass construction, the thick bamboo layers combined with the “chopstick bamboo” makes the board extremely durable. The medium flex makes the board run smooth. The extensive concave provides additional stability. The symmetry of the deck with the mini tail kicks allows the rider to perform several tricks. Sonni Hönscheid Artist and SUP Champion Sonni was born on the 27th of May 1981 on Sylt, a little island in the north sea close to the border to Denmark. But she grew up on the beaches of Sylt, Fuerteventura and Hawaii. Sonni traveled a lot with her sister Bitsy, mother Ute and her dad Jürgen. He was a very successful windsurf pro and took part in contest around the world. In 1986 Jürgens professional career ended and the family moved to Fuerteventura, where she started surfing and windsurfing. Sonni was out in the water every day in the challenging waves of Fuerteventura’s rocky north shore and soon she was winning surfing events in southern France. As a part of the German national team Sonni travelled to the European and World Surfing Games in places like Portugal, South Africa and Brazil. In summer 2004 she was working as a lifeguard on the legendary “Bühne16” beach in Kampen Sylt, home of the German jet set. Her family opened up a surf shop called “northshore” in Lajares on Fuerteventura. Meanwhile being Germanys most successful surfer girl, Sonni was also able to achieve 2 World Titles the sport of Stand Up Paddling. With this new passion, she spend a lot of time on Maui where she started to paint again. As a child, Sonni already had a passion for art and being creative. Inspired by her travelling to new exotic places Sonni developed her own style of art. A technique with special acrylic pens allows her to bring impressions of the stunning nature of Hawaii, the animating rough Northsea of Sylt or the desert of Fuerteventura on to canvas. Her paintings often tell a story. The viewer always discovers new context in the flowing lines of her art. This versatility brought her also success as a designer. JUCKER HAWAI’I was the first putting her art on products. Later labels like Chiemsee and the well-known beverage brand Caprisonne followed. By now there are 2 JUCKER HAWAII Longboards with her design. Besides her passion for painting and designing Sonni is out on the water every day. She loves SUP soul surfing sessions with her sisters Bitsy, Janni and her dad Jürgen. Sonni also likes to race on the Stand Up Paddleboard, specially the Maliko Downwinders on Maui. Sonnis biggest moment in her career as a professional SUP Athlete was in 2015 when she won her 2nd Molokai2Oahu SUP Race, a 32 Mile race between the islands of Hawaii, which is regarded as on of the most prestigious SUP Races in the world. In 2013 Sonni had her first major art exhibition “Peace Love Sylt” at the gallery in Kaamp-hüs in Kampen Sylt and on a regular base her art is shown in the Hof Gallery in Westerland / Sylt. SKAID The Skaid! We are raising money with the “Skaid” for skate-aid just like we are doing with the “Donator”. For each board sold we will give 13€ to skate-aid who is building skateparks in regions torn by war or natural disasters. Each color in the graphic on the bottom resembles a country in which skate-aid is active. The unidirectional shape in combination with the minikicks at the end make this board a great freerider. The deck consists of 8 layers for Canadian Maple in top finishing and high quality components. The graphics on the bottom represent the countries in which skate-aid is actively involved. Have fun and contribute to a charity at the same time. Summarized: “The Skaid” is a perfect allround longboard, good for cruising, sliding, light downhill and urban freeride.

WIKIWIKI The “WikiWiki” (Hawai’ian for fast) is our new allround freeride Longboard. The board is unidirectional and has a mini-kick on each end, which allows the rider to control the board better especially for technical advanced maneuvers. The deck has a concave which give the rider a solid stance and grip for slides. The trucks are top mounted which gives the rider a great transmission of power from the board to the trucks. The “WikiWiki” is the perfect board for ambitious beginners and advanced riders who are looking for a precise and steering behavior.

HE’E The “HE’E“ (Hawai’ian for octopus) is another freerider from JUCKER HAWAI’I. One highlight of this board is the octopus lasered into the bottom of the deck. Both sides of the deck are black stained so the structure of the wood remains visible. The deck combined with the 78A cruiser wheels, makes this board a perfect cruiser/freerider. Even at higher speeds the trucks run smooth and the wheels have a good grip on the road. The concave of the deck gives the rider a solid stance and the mini kicks allow for tricks. We extensively tested the HE’E on Maui and is one of the new favorites of our team riders.
Deck • Length: 1015 mm / 40 inch • Width: 237 mm / 9.33 inch • Material: 8 layers cold pressed Canadian maple, black stain top and bottom layer • Innerhole wheelbase: 700 mm • Twintip with minikicks • Truckmount: Drop through, oldschool • Griptape: Black (standard)

PUEO The “PUEO“ (Hawai’ian for owl) is a slide machine suitable for advanced riders as well as beginners. The deck is stiff and the concave gives the rider a solid stance. The combination of the deck with the 83A (roughened surface) wheels makes this board perfect for sliding and cruising. We tested the board extensively on Maui’s backroads and are very happy about the results. Instead of printing graphics on the bottom we lasered the graphics into the first layer of wood. Both sides of the deck are black stained so the structure of the wood remains visible. This board is the ultimate “Freeride-Slider” for Pros as well as for beginners.

LAHAINA The Lahaina is a Freeride / Freespeed Longboard with almost zero flex. The wide “Duckbill” kicktails are built for an extra solid stance when attempting tricks. The board is set up with the “SUPERBALL” wheels, which make the board very fast and allow long slides. Due to its hard flex the board is also suited for heavier riders. The unique Epoxy-Fiberglas-Layer construction (FRP) of the deck with the sublimation print enriches the longboarding scene with a trendsetting board. The FRP-Construction makes the board extremely durable and stabile. Even with intensive usage the board will not loose its flex and characteristics unlike conventional boards. The graphic is printed underneath the FRP and therefore is protected from scratches. Summoned up the Lahaina is a board for all who like a fast and stiff board.

K O PA L A The KOPALA (Hawaiian for shovel) is our new allround longboard, we feel that this name is well deserved. The KOPALA allows a wide range of usage: Cruising, Freeriding, Dancing and Downhill. Due to its width riders feel very comfortable and stabile on this board. The Epoxy-Fiberglass-Layer (FRP) absorbs vibrations efficiently. The shape of the deck, with its large kicktails make this board a great freerider and dancer. The wheels give the board a smooth ride and a fluent slide experience due to the rounded lips. The hard flex of the board make the KOPALA also great for heavier riders. The deck is built with a newly developed Epoxy-Fiberglass Layer (FRP-Construction). This extra FRP layer make the board more durable than normal boards. Even with an intense usage the board remains stabile and the characteristics don’t change over time. This is a board for ambitious beginners and advanced riders.

MAHALO The Mahalo (Hawai’ian for thank you) is a brainchild of our Teamrider, Fabian. The goal was to build a board with a timeless shape and clever details. The concept was actually developed for hardcore downhill racing. Soon enought we realized that the “Mahalo” is far more than just a downhill board allowing carving, sliding and even freerideing. The solid construction of the deck makes for a durable board for any challenge in downhill longboarding. Deep cut CNC milled wheelwells prevent wheelbites and the +3° flushcut at the front truck maximizes an effective steering angle lowering the nose of the board at the same time. Several holes in the tail of the board allow the rider to increase the distance between the trucks to adjust the board according to the slope and difficulty of the race track. (700mm for technical tracks and 730mm – 760mm for faster tracks) The position of the front always remains the same. If you are looking for a board to go fast, you found it here with us.

This is the ultimate Longboard truck that convinced many riders across Hawai’i and the US-Mainland of its quality. Each truck is individually manufactured in a CNC machine. The material used in the production is 6061 aluminum also used in the aerospace industry and is the best quality available. The bushing seat is slightly shallow for better turns but still deep enough for more stability at high speed. The axles are made from 303 chrome steel and fitted exactly to the size of the bearings so the bearings are sitting extremely tight on the axles. All trucks are being ionized for a better look. The bottom line: This is a very agile truck which is extremely stabile at high speeds. Our team riders are winning races with this truck at speeds in the neighborhood of 65MPH (100kmh). This is a high precision truck which our team riders can trust 100%.

This is the latest CNC ILIFFE truck named “Freeride”. All parts are carved with a high precision CNC machine from a high-grade aluminum unlike most other trucks which are casted from a mold in steel. The axels are screwed into the hanger and are not connected through. This saves weight without loosing stability. This truck is ideal for freeriding, cruising and downhill. Due to its solid construction the ILIFFE “Freeride” Truck is easy to control even on higher speeds.

Longboarding in Hawai’i (A story told in the Concrete Wave Magazine) If you think about Hawaii, beaches, turquoise lagoons and big waves come to mind. Hawaii is synonymous to ocean sports and the birthplace of most board sports know to man, like surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing and Stand Up Paddling. The people of Hawaii live and love the lifestyle surrounding ocean activities. Surfing is at the core of all boardsports, and athletes of all boardsports are aware of this. For people less familiar with the subject, I may recommend to watch Stacey Peraltas’ documentary, “Dogtown & Z-Boys”, this documentary illustrates in a great way how a bunch of surfing kids wanted to bring their beloved sport to the street, so they won’t go crazy on “waveless” days. Anyway, if you think about Hawaii, skateboarding is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind.
the talent. The island is very rural and widespread, so some of the hot spots of Maui’s longboarding scene are far apart and not always easy to find.
Why even bother to go skateboarding when you live in a place where you can glide across the ocean pretty much 365 days a year? Exactly that’s why! Lesser known than its beaches are Hawaii’s tall mountains, but after all that is all Hawaii is: A mountain range that is reaching above the surface of the ocean.
urge for surfing grew and grew. I still remember the first longboards coming to Zürich in the early1990’s, brought by skater’s that traveled to the US and brought them back home. We longboarded the streets of Zürich during the night when there was less traffic and after a summer of longboarding, I knew I could not stay for another winter, as surf trip as imperative.
The Valley Isle Maui is also called “The Valley Isle” and evidently; if there are valleys, there has to be mountains…right? Many people are not aware of the fact that Maui has a 3052m (10,0013 feet) tall mountain named, Haleakala. Haleakala may be host to one of the most beautiful roads for a downhill bomb from the thin air at summit, all the way to the beach. The views from up there are breathtaking, and give you a sense of what it means to be in the middle of the pacific. This road is also home to a small, but hard-core group, of longboarders that call the slopes of Haleakala their home. A recent published video called “The Mountain” showcases some of the best local talent and the beauty of this decent. The local scene of longboarders is growing, and so is

Maui Live I was lucky enough to settle on Maui over 13 years ago after a long journey around the world on a hunt for perfect waves. As a “child of the mountains” myself, I escaped my skateboarding and snowboarding life in Switzerland, in search for a new frontier: Surfing. I grew up in the town of Zürich, which was the epicenter of Switzerland’s skateboard and snowboard boom. After years of an active life in skateboarding and snowboarding, my
After 5 years of chasing after the perfect wave in numerous countries around the globe I found a new home here in the islands of Hawaii. Needless to say that as a native to a country with severe weather escapades, Maui is paradise. Not only was I able to travel for years, I was also able to settle in a place where, weeks of rain and fog are a thing of the unknown. Long forgotten was my past as a skater and snowboarder. I arrived in my own little “surf-nirvana”. I surfed everyday I could find a wave and could care less about skateboarding or snowboarding. Nevertheless, I found it very unfortunate that there was no skatepark or anywhere to go on flat days. The skateshop in
my new town was tiny, there was no skatepark nearby and the roads were sub-par compared to home. Who is skateboarding here with such an infrastructure anyways, I was thinking to myself, but somehow I also could careless. Now I was engulfed in ocean sports. After a few years my wife bought me a longboard for my birthday and I started to cruise and carve around the resort where she was working. I had tons of fun but frankly without anyone to share the stoke with, I stopped going out on my own and given the road infrastructure, commuting to and from work on my longboard was out of question. Times have changed A few years later a great opportunity came into my life, I was offered to start a company with my travel friend O’Barns whom I have met in my days in Central America. We had the opportunity to create skateboards longboards and we put our heart and soul into this project. We designed some cruiser boards inspired by my new live as a surfer at first and quickly added freerider boards to our line after our initial success. After a few test rides and skate sessions, it was like my skateboarding days were back and alive. I met some other skateboarders on my search for a perfect road to test new boards. Due to the construction boom that abruptly ended in 2008 I found some very nice empty streets to test boards and reconnect with my inner skateboard child through longboarding. If felt that “my surfing paradise” reveled a complete new side. Not only did I find more and more great roads, but also all of a sudden there were people in my neighborhood that had the same passion for longboarding like me. We were all looking for a boardsport during the flat summer month, so we started exploring the island for “skatespots” and met more kids with incredible talent mobbing the streets of their town at incredible speed. Thanks to my rediscovery of longboarding I was able to reconnect with my roots as a skateboarder and improve my surfing skills at the same time. Enjoy Your Ride. Mike
