People usually have a lot of questions around cremation services if they have never arranged one before. Broward Funeral Choices are a Fort Lauderdale Cremation Services operator, and provide some outlines to answer some of these common questions.

Before the Service There are some paperwork and documentation to fill out before the service can go ahead. You will be assigned a funeral director, they will work with you to ensure you fill out all the necessary paperwork and understand the terms and conditions.

The Service You have the freedom to dictate how you want the service personalized. You can choose a religious, or a non-religious service. Or, you can choose to have no service at all. You will be allocated a time slot, and your service cannot overrun or it will overlap with another service. The duration of the service needs to be arranged with your funeral director, who can advise of the different time slots. You can have an additional or separate service at a church, residential home, or any other place before attending the ceremony at the crematorium. You may also arrange for a minister of your own to speak at the service. It’s your service you are arranging, and your funeral services provider will do whatever they can to help facilitate your needs.

The end of the service is called the committal. During this ending part to the service, the coffin is usually passed through some curtains and hidden. When the service has finished, all of the attendees will be lead outside. Where they can look at the floral tributes and any plot reserved.

The Cremation The cremation is carried out shortly after the service. It’s sometimes possible for a close member of the deceased family to witness the process on special enquiry. You can find out if this is possible by speaking with the funeral director. The coffin and any personal possessions placed on the coffin are cremated along with the body. Code of practice states that the coffin must not be changed in any way once it has been brought into the chapel.
