Juhood: The Journal of Middle Eastern and North African Affairs

Juhood is the namesake of an Arabic word meaning "make every conceivable effort; to do one's utmost." This publication aims to do just that. Juhood: The Journal of Middle Eastern and North African Affairs is a scholarly publication that aims to encourage discussion on the MENA region at Duke University. It aims to provide a diverse array of opinions on the cultures, histories and religions that constitute the region. It strives to be a space in which students can publish research on the Middle East and North Africa. It endeavors to place objectivity and erudition at the center of each contribution.
