The golden triangle

THE GOLDEN tr angle

IT’S ONE OF JUICY OASIS’ GEMS, THE ‘TRIANGLE' BETWEEN THE SAUNA LOFT, INFINITY POOL AND HOT TUB. HERE’S WHY THIS SWEET SPOT IS SO GOOD FOR MIND, BODY AND SOUL…

After hours, Juicy Oasis takes on a chilled vibe when guests often tuck themselves away to chat, catch a healthy movie or to retire for an early night, but a lucky few discover one of the retreat’s best-kept secrets, Sauna Club.

Within a few steps of each other, the retreat’s sauna, infinity pool and hot tub provide an incredible health-enhancing experience for those who dare to brave a daily dose of the ‘golden triangle’.

Invigorating, stimulating and relaxing, guests enjoy a three-way circuit, spending 15 minutes in each spot, with those who are brave enough repeating the cycle for as long as they dare for maximum health benefits. If you are reading this at Juicy Oasis or planning a trip to the retreat, don’t miss out on an incredible experience which you will dream about long after your stay is over – and remember, those who experience ’Sauna Club’ abide by the unspoken ‘rule’ that what goes on after dark at Juicy Oasis, stays at Juicy Oasis.

To misquote Fight Club, ‘If this is your first night at Juicy Oasis, you have to try Sauna Club’…

3. Hot tub, 15 mins

Who doesn’t love a relaxing soak in a hot tub? And, even better, research shows taking the plunge is actually good for you. A study in Japan, where tub bathing is ingrained in the culture, followed 30,000 middle-aged people for 20 years and participants who bathed daily had a 28 per cent lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 26 per cent lower risk of stroke than those who bathed less than twice a week.

1. Sauna loft, 15 mins

Hot, hot, hot! Perched on the edge of the deck, overlooking the lake and mystical mountains, Juicy Oasis’ Sauna Loft is an awe-inspiring place to chill, day or night. After dark it becomes an intimate, cosy spot to unwind. As the dry heat rises, your blood vessels open, improving your circulation, helping you to relax and relieving tension in your muscles, while toxins are flushed from your body. Major studies have linked regular sauna use to a reduction in heart disease, cognitive decline and premature death. A recent Finnish study of 2,300 middle-aged men found that those who used a sauna 4-7 times a week were 50 per cent less likely to die from cardiovascular diseases.

2. Infinity pool, 15 mins

Many visitors to Juicy Oasis ponder why the swimming pool isn’t heated, but the reason is it can’t be, as it’s an infinity pool. Besides, the health benefits of cold-water swimming are well-documented, aiding everything from weight loss to mental-health. Researchers at the University of Cambridge studied winter swimmers at Parliament Hill Lido in London for three years and found they had elevated levels of a protein called RBM3, dubbed the ‘cold shock’ protein, which had slowed braincell death in mice in an earlier experiment. Separately, a 2002 US study found sitting in cold water for 15 minutes reduces blood pressure and heart rate by up to 10 per cent.
