Advanced & Continued Studies Program UPRRP, San Juan Prof. Juan C. Penabad 2018 School for Advanced Studies on the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras Campus. It includes administrative offices, classrooms, amphitheater, a library, gallery, and outdoor spaces. The project responds to two existing context axis: the vertical parallel and a diagonal. The forms of each building and it’s outdoor counterpart respond to the clash between these two axis.

A design responding to the necessities of the Tropical Beach community such as having a second level floor plan above 15’ to provide immediate shelter in floods while the first level floor plan is completely open for commerce. The whole structure offers spaces for local merchants, communal rooms, and an opportunity for storage or indoor agriculture. The project is located at the entrance of the community where it has a dimension of 30’ x 250’.

Green Density Sagrado Corazón Station Group Project Prof. Victor Paunetto y Prof. Raphael Ozuna 2019 (group project members: Nildalice Berrios, Allen Marrero, Erick Pacheco y Sophia Rivera)

My contribution was the graphics and concept of unifying the lots in the center to create a massive ecological park with spaces for a variety of activities as well as the flora and it’s densest moments. My colleague Sophia developed the skate park near the train station along with bycicle routes, Nildalice worked on the newly added body of water for kayaking, and Allen along with Erick created a space on the bottom left for food trucks and the existing bus system.

N

The project unifies existing lots to add social and ecological value to the homes and nearby university. The park showcases the dense and lush tropical flora as it connects with the urban topography. It includes a skate park, open fields for festivities, celebrations or gatherings, food truck ammenities, and train station. It allows for nature, el Caño Martín Peña, exist more in harmony with the community of Santurce.
