WORKSHOP DIRECTION

Domus Academy, 2012-2014

» Project Management

» Brief Creation

» Tutoring

As an assistant of the master in Business Design, workshop direction was a primary task. It included from the development of the project brief to the coaching of the students throughout the workshop period. In order to support project development and team work the workshop was based on the learn by design approach which consisted of various meetings with the students’ group in order to support the project development and the teamwork. The meetings can be divided to: 3 company sessions, everyday short group meetings with the tutor, weekly meetings with all groups working together, weekly group meetings with the project leader and the tutor and presentation direction with tutor.

Research

Literature review and desk research on the theme of the workshop and the company in collaboration. The themes of the workshop were: systemic design, innovation, design research, brand design, entrepreneurship. Open Session

Discussion of the project proposal with the company and the Master's staff for readjustments.

Brief Creation

Revised with Company & Project Leader

The brief included the objective, theoretical framework, tool-kit and planning of the workshop. The tool-kit refers to the methodological framework proposed, which was being developed according to the workshop theme, the company’s identity and intent and the time frame given to the students to complete the process.

Launch

Launch of workshop with the company and presentation of methodologies and tools to be practised.

Revisions

Meetings with the student groups for updates and direction. Readjustment of methodology according to project needs and group dynamics.

CONVERGENCE HOTEL

Group Competition, 2013

» Scenarios

» Mock-ups

» Presentation Design

A project regarding the hospitality sector and in specific a new hotel proposal for travellers' and locals’ with leisure and business needs that can experience hospitality through connectivity. As I was involved at the last stage of the project my contribution was to develop the social experience inside the hotel through one of the touch points which was the hotel application and to create the visual output and narration of the presentation for the competition.

Research

Update from the team on the project and the missing parts of it. Creation of video reel to understand the guests profiles and the hotel aspiration.

Scenarios

Analysis of the hotel design and the guests' behaviour through scenarios. The scenarios were created upon the segmentation of the hotel in '' meeting points " in order to understand how to facilitate social togetherness and easy way finding for potential human interaction.

Mock ups

Based on the hotel brand, guest profiles, architecture and scenarios the main guidelines were set to build the wire frames that later on led to the creation of basic mock ups.

Presentation

The presentation flow was discussed with the team and the visual output was evolving throughout the process, matching the hotel brand and conveying its proposition. The presentation was segmented in two parts a video reel and a pdf document.

BOOKING EXPERIENCES

Company Presentation, 2012

Âť Concept

Âť System Design

Âť Service

It started as a project during my MA studies and later on evolved to be part of an airline service proposition for a new booking experience. The service would act as a seat management system for the airline by exploiting the availability of the flights. For the travellers it would be an alternative to low cost travel with a particular service experience. The project proposed a booking system of hours of travel, that would be a prepaid amount valid for specific routes and dates of inbound flights

Research

The research was conducted in two levels the macro and the micro. In the macro level there were investigated, the common practices and tendencies of the travel industry and the categories of trips. In the micro level there were investigated, the Greek travel industry, the brand of the Aegean airlines and the travellers profiles.

Concept

For the concept to be defined it was used the value curve to demonstrate the main points of the future strategy and mood-boards.

System

A system map that represents the main modules of the service in order to understand the complexity.

Mock-up

In the end a low-fi mock-up of the online channel was developed to showcase how it could be intergrated to the main service of the airline.

ENHANCED LEARNING

MA Final Project, 2011

Âť Research

Âť Brand

Âť Experience

Enhanced Learning is the final master project in business design. It explores the possibility of Domus Academy, as a practical design school to launch online master courses. The project investigated the potential brand expansion and its feasibility.

Research

Observation of different Domus academy activities, interviews with students, case studies on educational institutions and trends.

Analysis

To analyse the findings of the research phase tools such as benchmarking, students profiles, brand analysis and value curve.

Brand

Brand startegy, such as the vision and the positioning; and brand systems, such as the verbal and the visual.

System

A system diagram and an experience map to explain the proposition of the online courses and to communicate the process, the insights and the engagement.

DROPS WATER COLLECTION MA Group Project, 2011

Âť Business Modelling

Âť Systems Design

Âť Visual Design

The project was developed in conjunction with the students group from the Master of Urban Vision and Architecture. The role of my group from the Master in Business Design was to generate a business model and action plan for the new water installations proposed for the EXPO 2015.

Research

In the research phase the two masters worked closely together in order to deliver a territorial analysis, to understand water attributes and engineering aspects and to create the visitors profiles.

Analysis

The analysis incorporated the creation of a system map, stakeholders analysis and the first drafts of business modelling divided in 3 stages pre, during and post EXPO 2015.

Coordination

As soon as the base for the strategy was set we had to coordinate the individual water projects in order to advance to the financial analysis of the project.

Business Model

The business model was being developed in parallel with business plan and the action plan, which gave a coherent view of the project and the risks that may arise.

Feasibility

The feasibility was checked by developing a business plan and a road map of the strategy. For the post phase there were proposed two different outputs depending on the risk assessment regarding the stakeholders.

I hope you enjoyed the trip! I would be happy to talk to you and show you more of my projects
