THE PROJECT Seeking an environment of inclusive education through actions of culture, information and fun, Project World Turns enables Third Sector organizations working with young people and / or children foster an environment of discussion about global issues. The “Gira Mundo� Project is the biggest social project runned by AIESEC in Brazil and it takes action in poor and developing communities.
Ribeirão preto is one of the most rich cities in São Paulo state, because of the large share of agriculture in the economy. On the other hand, the city have a huge social inequality and the poor kids don’t have much hope in life. Gira mundo project aims to show this kids that life can be much better then they think, bringing people from all around the world to show they care about them!
The main focus of the project is to develop a generation more conscious about world issues and some aspects such as cultural understanding, environmental issues and social responsibility. Develop and prepare the activities and themes the trainee will be applying in the NGO. These activities need to be creative to engage the children and make them enjoy and participate. The trainee will have to pass to the children in the NGO part of his native culture and traditions (such as history, music, habits, ludic games, gastronomy and everything that he judges interesting). The trainee will also participate and help the internal activities of the NGO with the children, always including the aspects of his original country and culture.
