Exercise 01 The axonometric diagram shows both the elevation and section of a detached house with three levels: a basement floor, for parking use, and ground and first floors, for housing use. It stands on a concrete structure of pillars, beams and slabs. The slab standard section is 15 + 5 cm. The main façade includes a 12 cm. perforated brick outer layer, with a cement mortar cladding, a 5 cm. air cavity, 8 cm. of extruded polystyrene as insulation and an inner finishing of hollow brick and plaster. The cantilever element incorporates also a stone cladding: a 3 cm. granite, attached to the wall with mortar and metal connectors, and an oak casement window. The socket of the basement is, up to 1,50 mts., a concrete 25 cm. thick wall, without isolation, also finished with a granite cladding. The sidewalk outside is finished with a terrazzo 40x40 cm. tile. Sections A-A’, B-B’ will be completed in the classroom, while section C-C’ will be submitted by September 24. Be submitted basic information only –drawings and captions, as specified in the guidelines. Sections are requested in an approximate 1:10 scale, including all façades and windows (but, in this occasion, not the roof). Missing data, if any, should be decided by the student –as this will lead each one to different details. Details should include all information necessary to build the façade: dimensions, components, materials, etc.
