Exercise 03 The axonometric diagram shows both the elevation and section of the renovation and enlargement of a ruined public school built in 1927. The ground and first floors will keep the original steel PNI 200 beams. The load-bearing 48 cm. thick façade walls will also remain. A rendered thermally insulated façade (ETICS) will be used in the renovation of this façade. The building will be enlarged with a second floor. The new structure will combine concrete in two new 25 cm. thick slabs and a new load bearing wall, 24 cm. thick, covered with a ventilated finishing layer. The exercise should be resolved in accordance with the following data: Group 1 Inverted façade: Coteterm façade system. Ventilated façade: 60x40x3 limestone. Windows: 70 mm PVC swinging windows. Group 2 Inverted façade: Baumit façade system. Ventilated façade: Favemanc ceramic system, 30x5 cm. section. Windows: 60 mm lacquered aluminium swinging windows. A general 1:50 elevation, representing section ........... will be completed in the classroom. Be submittted basic information only –drawings and captions, as specified in the guidelines. Sections are requested in an approximate 1:10 scale, including all façades and windows. The flat roof will be represented by a single line. Missing data, if any, should be supposed by the student –as this will lead each one to different details. Details should include all information necessary to build the façade: dimensions, components, materials, etc.
