Exercise 04 The axonometric diagram shows both the elevation and section of a two-storey building with an curtain wall façade. 180x50 mm aluminium mullions form the façade substructure, covered with a stick system. The continuous curtain wall becomes a transparent glass socket in the roof area. The glass in vision areas is 4+4/12/6, tempered. The main structure of the building is a concrete 20 cm. thick slab supported by concrete pillars recessed of the facade. The base consists of a low concrete wall. Both plants belong to different owners and each floor is a different fire sector, so CTE DB-SI should be considered in the design of the facade. Case 1. Students with ID 0,2,4,6,8. The spandrel areas will include an 80 mm. thick aluminium sandwich coloured panel. Draw the elevation of the curtain wall, redesigning the sections, and marking anchor points and expansion joints. Scale 1:20. Draw details of the latter two. Scale 1: 5. Draw the vertical section A-A' and the horizontal section CC' detailing schematically including prescribed and other items. Scale 1:10 Draw the significant elements of the vertical section AA ' (for swinging windows). Scale 1:2. Draw the significant elements of the horizontal section CC ' (for swinging windows). Scale 1:2. Case 2. Students with ID 1,3,5,7,9. The spandrel areas will include an opaque 10 mm tempered glass and an attached internal 18 mm. aluminium sandwich panel filled with polyurethane. Scale 1:10 Draw the significant elements of the vertical section BB ' (for swinging windows). Scale 1:2. Draw the significant elements of the horizontal section DD ' (for swinging windows). Scale 1:2. Be submittted basic information only –drawings and captions, as specified in the guidelines. The flat roof will be represented by a single line. Missing data, if any, should be supposed by the student –as this will lead each one to different details. Details should include all information necessary to build the façade: dimensions, components, materials, etc. Submission: November 19.
