Exercise 01 – Group exercise (Only for those not participating in the PLACO awards) The drawing shows the plan, elevation and axonometric view of the current state of the renovation of a cafeteria in Madrid. All the original distributions have been removed, leaving the structure and the facilities as seen in the images. The new architecture program, and all materials and construction systems, will be decided by each group of students. The use of non standard partition or finish systems is encouraged. At least a kitchen, toilets, a bar and a staircase, all according to local regulations, must be included. Students will define their proposal in a series of documents that might include as many plans, elevations and sections as necessary. Each group will present a proposal in the classroom by the end of the semester. The following plans and sections are mandatory: General plan – distribution. Façade access – vertical section. Toilets - horizontal and vertical sections. Staircase - vertical section. Bar - vertical section. Missing data, if any, should be supposed by the student. Details should include all necessary information to build the façade: dimensions, components, materials, etc.
