Waiting for summer has given us a chance to reflect on who we are, how we live our lives and what‘s important to us. We’ve been peeking into the lives of people who do things in their own way and can give the rest of us some tips.

#BeMoreJill went viral after the Channel 4 series It’s a Sin showed how the character Jill, based on actress Jill Nalder, stood by friends as they battled both the AIDS virus and the stigma that stemmed from ignorance.

We spoke to the real life Jill, and have an exclusive interview with the series creator, Russell T Davies, in which he urges gay men and women not to be afraid to tell someone.

The message to us all is... be yourself.
