The Storylines Foundation The M/V Narrative
Message from the Founders Natives of Australia’s Gold Coast, lifelong friends, Shannon Lee and Alister Punton have always had a deeply rooted entrepreneurial spirit. Experiencing early success in Australia’s real estate market during their career, they came upon the concept of living aboard a cruise ship during a holiday dinner three years ago. Shortly after they took the decided to plunge, divesting their assets and starting their trek across the globe in search of the ideal ship—and partnership to make their goal a reality. November 2018 brought an agreement with former Norwegian Cruise Lines CEO Kevin Sheehan and the former Costa Grand Classica to fruition. Kevin’s longstanding knowledge of the industry provided Alister and Shannon a tremendous platform as well as the stability the project needed to succeed. Building on the Storylines premise, the newly named Narrative will enter the shipyard for a complete re-design and refurbishment, scheduled to launch June 30, 2020 from Italy. Making a positive impact in the communities we visit is at the core of our resident’s values. The Storylines Foundation is a 501©3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to operating humanitarian and voluntourism experiences for guests that wish to give back to the communities we visit. Spending 3, 5 and sometimes 7 days in many of our featured destinations provides residents a deeply immersive experience— but also allows us to leave a small, but positive imprint, on every region we touch.

Now the largest residential home at sea at 722 feet, the 53,000-ton M/V Narrative has brought a fresh and innovative perspective of living afloat. With only 630 homes at sea, thoughtful design and creative use of space encourages guests to take full advantage of all areas of your new home. Most importantly, we’ve provided an incredible amount of outdoor space, natural light and timeless casual elegance in an environment that will never feel crowded.
Ownership Structure Although the M/V Narrative may look similar to a regular cruise ship from the outside—together the residents actually own the vessel in a structure not entirely different from land-based condominiums. An initial purchase price combined with ‘all-inclusive’ monthly assessments, allow for the largest and most affordable residential development afloat to truely be your Home at Sea. From her maiden voyage date, M/V Narrative is guaranteed for a minimum 21 years. After that time residents are invited to continue on a replacement vessel meaning you will always have a home. Guest at Sea Program When not in use, Home at Sea owners may choose to make their residence available for rental through the uniquely designed Storylines Guest at Sea program, the exclusive distribution channel for all units aboard the M/V Narrative.
Participating in Storylines’ Guest at Sea program
This rental program provides a greater level of flexibility for owners that may not intend to occupy their Home at Sea fulltime. The minimum rental term is 90 days, and rental income is collected by Storylines and and the net amount is credited to the owner’s Home at Sea account, offsetting monthly assessments, including current and/or future assessments. The program currently offers an extremely owner-friendly pricing structure including a daily amortization of both your Home at Sea purchase price and monthly assessments. This structure still allows for tariffs set at a rate that is highly competitive to other cruise lines operating world cruise segments. This return is not guaranteed, and may fluctuate at anytime based upon potential operational costs or sales and marketing expenses.

Inventory Revenue Management
We actively manage all available Home at Sea rentals through our reservation system, with priority given first to our Founders Circle members; rentals are then assigned based upon date of notification that your Home at Sea Is available for rental. Our system provides a listing on our site, including available dates, size, and amenities, allowing the consumer to select their preferred rental period, from a minimum of 90 days to a maximum of twelve (12) months.

Guest at Sea General Terms
Guests participating in this program must consume a minimum rental term of 90-days aboard the vessel. This minimum stay will ensure a strong sense of community aboard the MV Narrative, and addresses concerns of a transient environment aboard. Guests will make an initial, non-refundable deposit upon reservation with Storylines. If cancellation is received before final payment is paid, this fee is retained by Storylines to cover administrative costs. Final payment is made to Storylines 120 days prior to departure, with proceeds distributed to our Home at Sea owners on day one of guest occupancy. Renter cancellation insurance will be made available to Guest at Sea participants to address associated penalties incurred due to cancellation. A refundable security deposit of $1,500 will also be made at final payment. Storylines on-board management will inspect the unit upon departure, and deposit will be refunded to the guest within 30 days following departure if unit is returned in satisfactory condition.

Finance FAQS Do you offer interest rate discounts on financing? Yes, from time-to-time we offer interest rate promotional discounts on Home at Sea financing. Interest rates start as low as 9.9% with excellent credit. Do you charge a prepayment penalty if I pay my loan off early? No. You pay interest only on the principal amount you borrowed, for the length of time you borrowed it. We do not charge prepayment penalties. How much of a down payment do I have to provide? A minimum initial reservation deposit of $10,000, combined with two milestone payments of 20% respectively of the purchase price is required. Closing costs and loans fees are paid separately.
Do I pay my application fee before I sign pay my reservation deposit? Your Home at Sea application fee is collected at the time of application through the secure website.
