The RCM

We are a francophone amateur rugby club, founded in 1995, and managed by volunteers.

Recruitment

With over 150 licensed members, we are the biggest amateur rugby club in Montreal.

To play on our senior team you must be over 18. For kids between 6 and 18 we have a rugby school.

We have 3 senior masculine teams, 1 feminine team and two junior teams - U16 and U18.

What?

We’re a big family and have lots of fun together!

Where ?

Our home field during the summer is at Parc Jeanne Mance in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood. Our social events organized for member often take place around the Plateau neighbourhood or nearby.

When ?

Our regular season is from May to October. The regular season when we take part in the provincial championship runs from June to August. We continue to play while we can during Fall with & a 7 side tourna-

If you already know how to play that’s great! You should come and join our competitive teams. But if you don’t know how to play but are interested come and have a try- we’re sure you’ll want to come back.

Preparation Where? TAZ (8931 Avenue Papineau) When? Fridays from February 7 to April 4, from 18.30 to 21.30 What do you need? Shorts, T-Shirt, Sneakers

Sports

What about for women is rugby too physical?Our feminine team certainly dont think so!

What happens? We get to know each other and help new members integrate the club. It’s mostly fitness training, touch rugby (no contact), and ball skills.

Who can join the RCM?

Do you have to be be 6’2 and weigh 200 pounds to play? NO! If you come and take a look at our teams in action you’ll see that there are all shapes and sizes and that everyone has a place on the field.

How do I join? Joining is easy: you simply have to complete two forms, and submit them along with a photo, your cheque and proof of insurance (RAMQ or private) U19 (born in 1995): 150 $

When the regular season is over, we don’t stop exercising- there’s boxing, hockey, and snow rugby!

Promoting rugby

We organize the provincial feminine finals and we often appear in local media to talk about rugby. We are also very involved with the ARRM in the campaign to ensure rugby gains proper recognition with the Ville de Montreal.

Communautaire

Regular Season When? We train twice a week and play a game once a week. What do you need for training? shorts, tshirt, rugby socks, rugby boots, mouth guard. If you want you can also wear protective gear for your head (scrum cap) and or other body parts! What happens?
