Julienne Johnson

Julienne Johnson was born in Michigan and has lived in Louisiana, Florida, Indiana and New York. As a child living partially with her grandparents in Northern Michigan, she played on eighty acres of natural forest: a most important time in her artistic development. Her solid foundation of the Modernist movement once lead her boldly through the footsteps of her predecessors: Kandinsky, Gorky, DeKooning and Twombly, Now, with museum shows in the making and artwork in the permanent collection of a Smithsonian museum affiliate - Johnson's emotionally charged response to 2011 starts a new chapter.
