I N S P I R A T I O N
While looking for designed paper projects but also the history of paper, I realised that I was more interested by the matriality of paper itslef more then shaping sheets of paper such as origami or other folding techniques. I also wanted to stay in a sustainable practice so I gathered inspiration based on recycled paper projects. I think there is still a lot of possibilities out of papier macher and this is what I try to comunicate through my research but also project.
MATERIAL/BODY
I experimented on paper according to my body-relation toward the material. For each of thoses experiment comes a short movie showing how I interacted with the substance. From the hands to the feets, I also digged my head in the paste... I took the experiments further on a material approach (color, texture, smell...).
The basic recipe consists in paper waste combined with water, potatoe starch and cement. Once shaped the mixture is microwaved and a chemical reactions happens. That’s how the object becomes shard and strong.
MATERIAL/INTERVENTION
Two aspects triggered me wile working on the material itself. First the recycled aspect, it really shows how simple recycling is, but also the beauty coming out of those wasted materials. This beauty, is the second aspect that triggers me. I saw recently this french economist explaining that waste (as paper, metal, wood, plastic) will soon become a marketig good that might replace oil. To make it short, wasted materials are soon going to become “luxury goods. In the next steps of this project I wanted to show how wasted paper can gain value , and become desirable. Wich in the meantime will show the easyness of recycled DIY goods.

MATERIAL/OBJECT
The objectmaking part of this procces came fluidly. I always need to understand the material I am working on by trying to shape it, give it a meaning, creating semantics through an object. Here are a serie of table wear following the conclusion of my experiments.
MATERIAL/COMPOSITION
By taking picture of the objects, I realised how important it was to contectualise them and associate them to create families.
