Kathryn Marie Satko  June 17, 1947 - March 11, 2018 Longtime Juneau resident, Kathryn Marie Satko, passed away on March 11, 2018, in Washington. Born June 17, 1947, to Joe H. and Irene G. Satko, she attended St. Ann’s Catholic School and later graduated from Juneau Douglas High School in 1965. She was baptized and attended services at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary; there she helped with Godly Play, was an RCIA sponsor and a founding member of The Martha’s. Early in life, she was employed at her Aunt’s fabric store in Juneau, later taking a position with KFC and Montgomery Ward. She married Lenthal A Bollman III and had her first daughter before she left Alaska, then went on to have her second daughter and first son in Oregon. While there, she worked at a Radio Station, where she became a local celebrity. She returned to Alaska in 1979, and started work for the State of Alaska at the Department of Labor. She married Rick A Clum and had her third daughter and second son. She later worked for Vital Statistics and Fish & Game, and married Andrew Hughes. After over 20 years of service with the State of Alaska she retired. In retirement she worked with The United Way and helped with the database for Pick, Click, Give, currently being used statewide. She moved to Washington State for her health, and to be close to her father before his passing.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Joe (Herb) Satko, and her 5 children; JoAnn Everson (Mike, Ezra), Heidi Stears (Gary, Wendy, Kate), Joseph Bollman (Anne), Nickie Flanders (Will), and Ricky Clum. Also surviving is her nephew Todd Satko (Summer, Nikki, Lee), and numerous other extended family members in Washington. She will be remembered for her immense love and support of her children. She enjoyed jokes, roasts and had a tremendous sense of humor that she shared freely and often. She endeavored to find happiness wherever she could; believing family was the most important thing. She loved to have picnics with her parents and extended family that would pull up in boats at different islands around Juneau. Later she continued her love of picnics at Auke Rec and Twin Lakes with her children and all her children’s friends. Services will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary June 26th and a service to be interned at the Shrine of St. Therese columbarium. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to: Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Juneau, Alaska.
