The Gastineau Humane Society currently has 22 cats, 3 dogs, and 12 small animals available for adoption.
Batman
Batman is a loner. He does not like other cats, and can be somewhat picky about the people he likes as well. Luckily for him, he is quite beautiful, with flowing black and white fur, so he makes a great ornamental piece. That is probably the role he was born to play – sitting by himself and looking royally beautiful as he surveys his kingdom and subjects. Maybe one day his heart will be won by the right person who can accept him as he is and provide a loving forever home where he can live happily ever after.
Delta & Gamma
Delta and Gamma came in to GHS separately but are now the best of friends. They enjoy cuddling, bouncing around, and even sleep all curled up together. Chinchillas are very social so finding a home willing to take both would be a dream come true for these guys. Chinchillas are not ideal for a young person’s first pet. They require a lot of careful socializing, strict dietary/ care needs, and can live up to 20 years. Delta and Gamma love to be out and adventuring around their environment. Both Delta and Gamma are in need of some socialization to help them learn that hands are not something to be afraid of. Unfortunately Delta had a bad experience and does not do well with small children.
Namira
This lovely senior lady is proud of her long, incredibly soft slate-gray hair. She still has her girlish good looks and figure from her younger days and is as sweet as a kitten. Namira doesn’t ask for much – just a quiet place to sit and watch the world go by, either in your lap or in a soft, out-of-the-way spot. While she is initially a little shy, you don’t have to work hard to gain her trust. She would make the perfect companion for someone looking for quiet friend with a velvety touch.
Smudge
Smudge is a sweet senior gentleman with long, pure white hair. He is a little on the shy side, but will readily sit on your lap and enjoys being petted. It’s like holding a fluffy white snowball! His beautiful long hair requires regular brushing, but other than that he is no trouble to anyone. Smudge enjoys a quiet snuggle in your lap and gives gentle appreciative kisses in return. When you are not holding him, he may choose to find an out of the way spot to sit and hide. If you are looking for a mature friend to share some quiet time, Smudge is ready to move in!
