DESCRIPTION The work of the studio lasted three months. The first part included a series of interviews with experts on the subject as well as statistical mapping, fieldwork and case studies. Several hypotheses were then introduced. The overall aim has been to discover the most pressing challenges, paradoxes, problems or untapped opportunities in the corporate world of Moscow. The research report “Offices summarizes the studio work and presents ideas and projects that should help the city make office space - and office culture more flexible and diverse, relevant to contemporary technological developments and the most advanced business models, and to city life itself. - Andreas Klok Pedersen, Varvara Melnikova

presentation material (beer coster) idea #79 “office box”
DESCRIPTION Project “79 ideas for offices” is a collection of different scale ideas for offices. It presents a combination of large and small solutions for office constructions, stationery equipment and office furniture. The proposals were based on a collection that had been gathered of real life office complaints and real time observation as well as brainstorming sessions with various categories of people. This project will make you laugh but at the same time think seriously about daily routine in the office. Project was developed as a part of studio publication and made in collaboration with Asen Chumov and Georgy Aygunyan.
presentation material (beer coster) idea #03 “modular office”
As a final projects presentation material was decided to make a two color (black & cyan) posters in a classical newspaper format. Poster had to have title that represents projects essence, description and visual material that is able to show a project. For visual material that can represent the “79 ideas for offices” project was made a isometric picture that shows a city from bird view. In picture it is possible to see many ideas that were developed during project design phase. As additional material for the exhibition were made 18 different beer/ cup costers on whom are illustrated some of project ideas on the one side and on the other side description for particular office idea. These costers were free for the public so visitor could take them and use in their daily routine. two color project poster for the exebition

STRELKA RELOCATION PROJECT INFO
DESCRIPTION The brief of the tender was to relocate the institute to another place in Moscow, so Strelka can move to that place in the year 2015. It was crucial to save existing functions of organization (Institute; bar; bookstore; office; public space; KB Strelka) an add new functions according to the wishes of the designers. New location had to have potential for future development where Strelka could play crucial role in territorial development of an area, like it did with existing location.

QUALITY FULLY DEVELOPED
Strelka with its innovative approach to explore urban spaces and its practice of initiating great public events will be able to fill up this gap and to draw public attention to the potential of the Moscow river.
TIME
UNDEVELOPED
The proposal was to choose the Moscow river as a place to house Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design in the future. Not one specific locality somewhere in the higher or lower part of the stream, but the whole river by itself. As the Moscow river is the most spacious territory among all abandoned urban spaces in Moscow. “Aquartecture” has not been developed here and the river for most Muscovites seems to be a kind of blind spot. For better understanding of movement logistics, team made a map based on the research about future riverbank development. And created movement scenarios for floating Strelka structure.

Designed building has 2541 m2 of total floor area. It has 3 floors and public area outside. North part of a building is occupied by technical rooms and offices. Middle part is for library purposes, but south side is for public events and youth center. Shape of a building was influenced from existing architectural identities in close surrounding - on the North side there is ald city center with pitched roof buildings, but on the South side there are modern building with flat rooftops. Building copied these two characteristics from surrounding and twist it’s rooftop from pitched to flat roof. Library project has specially designed ventilated brickwork facade on the South side of a building. North part of a building has classical brickwork, but on East and West facades of a structure is uses movable blind system for better insulation control. WEB PAGE
