The Health & Wellness Team at Jurong Medical Centre (JMC) is committed to helping patients care for their health and empower them to lead happy and healthy lives. We offer a wide range of services, from individual and corporate Health Screenings to Industrial Health, Pre-employment Medical Screening and Travel Health Vaccinations.

These are conducted at JMC or on-site at our client’s premise (for Corporate Screenings).

Whether it is individual or corporate screening, our one-stop centre offers you the answers you need.

Silent killer In Singapore, cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes are major causes of mortality and morbidity. They are triggered by ‘silent conditions’ such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes, which can be detected early through regular health screening. Early detection of such conditions will allow for better management and treatment outcomes.

Preparing for your Health Screening Fasting • Please fast the night before your scheduled screening. Fasting enables us to obtain an accurate diagnosis of your glucose and lipid profile tests.

- NO food and flavoured drinks - You can drink plain water - Continue all current medication EXCEPT diabetes medication. You may consume them after the screening Light refreshments will be provided after your blood specimens have been taken, or when you have had an ultrasound (of your abdomen) or hepatobiliary ultrasound (HBS) examination.

Please bring along your: • NRIC/Passport/ Employment Pass/ Work Permit • Any past medical records, X-ray films and current medications • Company Letter and/ or staff identification (for patients under Corporate Accounts)

Eye Check-up • Please bring your glasses with you.

Chest X-ray • For ladies, please inform our radiographer if you are pregnant or suspect you are.

• Avoid wearing jewellery.

Urine Analysis • Females should schedule their appointment at least three days after their last day of menstruation.

Stool Analysis • A stool-collecting kit will be issued on the day of the examination. Stool samples will be collected on the same day or on the next available day.

Other Specialised Tests (Optional) Treadmill Stress ECG • Avoid taking medications that could slow down your heart rate before the test. Medicines like atenolol should be stopped 48 hours before the test.

Please check with your doctor if you are unsure or on any cardiac or blood pressure medications.

• Bring a set of sports attire and running shoes.

• Avoid having a heavy meal before this test.

Mammogram • Schedule your appointment one week after your last day of menstruation.

• Avoid using talcum powder, deodorant or body lotion on your chest as they can interfere with your X-ray result.

• Avoid wearing jewellery.

• Postpone your mammogram if you are pregnant or suspect you are.

Pap Smear • Schedule your appointment at least one week after your last day of menstruation. The optimal time for a Pap Smear test is two weeks after your last day of menstruation.

Ultrasound Abdomen • Please do not eat or drink at least six hours before your appointment.

Ultrasound Hepatobiliary (HBS) • Please do not eat or drink at least six hours before your appointment.

Ultrasound Pelvis • Drink three glasses of water an hour before your appointment.

• DO NOT EMPTY your bladder before the examination.

Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) • For ladies, please inform our radiographer if you are pregnant or suspect you are.
