Town Square Business Spotlight: Chris Craft of Edward Jones
TOWN CENTER BUSINESS
Chris Craft of Edward Jones
Community. Helping people. These aren’t words you would normally associate with a financial planner, but they are of utmost important to Chris Craft of Edward Jones, whose office is in the Somersett Town Center. If you’ve been to EGGstravaganza or the Somersett Fall Festival, you may have met Chris. He’s the one who sponsors those amazing gift baskets that finders of the Golden Egg or winners of the Halloween costume contest proudly take home. He has coached Little League and flag football and served on community boards - all part of his commitment to supporting the Northwest Reno community he is a part of.
Originally from Mississippi, Chris attended San Jose State on a full football scholarship and since graduation has racked up 22 years of financial planning experience. “Experience is key in this business,’’ he says.
And experience with financial matters is something that many people lack. “Figuring out what to do with your money can be overwhelming,’ he says. “I take the time to help my clients identify what they want to spend money on.’’ He helps them prioritize and then makes a plan to achieve those goals. “I can be a rudder for folks,’’ he says. Chris and his business partner, Vicki Skarda, have worked together for 15 years and have been at the Town Center office for 7 of those years. “I am so lucky to have her,’’ Chris says, because they share the same passion for helping people. Vicki has 25 years of experience in the business and serves as Chris’ senior branch office administrator and partner. “She has a good heart,’’ he says.
Edward Jones offers an array of financial planning – 401Ks, college savings, Legacy Plans, and much more. Chris and Vicki’s office is on the second floor of the Town Center, above Sakana.
