It was adopted as a generic name for these steels and now covers a wide range of steel types and grades for corrosion or oxidation resistant applications. Stainless steels are iron alloys with a minimum of 10.5% chromium. Other alloying elements are added to enhance their structure and properties such as formability, strength and cryogenic toughness.
Stainless Steel Marking… Stainless steel can be marked with a laser for a wide variety of purposes. Commonly stainless steel items are used for promotional goods, such as pens as well as in the trophy and awards market. Stainless steel and tool steel are often used in industrial settings for tools, tool bits and as rugged long lasting machine data plates.
