PROJECT
TONE is found in literature, music, movies, color and design. In movies and literature it’s the way an author approaches a subject or theme—serious, comedic, dark, dramatic, light, formal, informal, sarcastic, sad, or cheerful. We adopt tone in our everyday speech to each other. A musical tone is characterized by its duration, pitch, intensity and timbre. In design it describes the intensity of color. I’ve always loved music, movies, literature, painting and photography. Part of what has always drawn me to design is the ability to work with and synthesize all these. An application of tone is imperative to all these elements.

Project 03 Paul Frank Candles
Class/Instructor Packaging 2 Melanie Halim
Challenge In this project we were tasked with creating a line of candles based on a fashion line. Solution I created a line of candles incorporating the fun, playful aspects of Paul Frank that he’s so known for. Creating boxes that acted like toys with an interchangeable mix and matchability to them. They were then packaged in a toy lunch pail. A product right in line with something that could be carried in the store.

Project 08 Ralph Lauren Skin Care
Class/Instructor Packaging 3 Thomas McNulty
Challenge Create a skin care line based on a large retail brand. Solution For this project I took the brand Ralph Lauren and incorporated some of their more active elements. This would be a line of skin care that would be focused on the active, sporty male. A more performance themed logo and name RL70 was created. A combination of rugged, traditional elements of americana but also with a performance edge.
