W

hen Emmy-awardwinning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer recently, she announced that “One in eight women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one.” This is one of several startling statistics regarding breast cancer. And though women are scheduling mammograms this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many patients aren’t aware of the risks associated with having dense breast tissue. More than 40 percent of women age 40 and older are estimated to have dense breasts. f, while driving the streets of Winnetka, you’ve spotted tiny tightrope walkers cavorting in neighborhood trees, you may be half wondering if the circus is coming to town. Once the domain of rock climbing enthusiasts and college hipsters, slacklines have been sprouting up on front lawns and backyards across the North Shore. Slacklining is the act of walking or balancing along a length of flat webbing suspended a few feet off the ground between two trees. Slacklines are different from traditional tightropes in that they’ll swing, stretch, and bounce like a trampoline. Webbing can be tensioned tighter, for beginning slackliners, or loosened for more experienced practitioners. A second, parallel slackline is often
