lhe North Shore District 112 Board of Education has begun reorganizing due to the recent resignations of Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy, board President Michael Cohn, and member Jacqueline Denham. Adam Kornblatt will serve the remainder of Cohn’s two-year term, and Lauren Klayman will complete Denham’s term that expires in April 2017. Current Board President Samantha Stolberg and Karla Livney will not run for re-election in April; Jane Solmor-Mordini is the only incumbent in a race with eight other candidates vying to fill four board positions. DailyNorthShore.com asked the candidates and incumbent about their qualifications. he Winnetka Children’s Hour, a North Shore tradition that goes back over 80 years, is rehearsing for its original musical production Does America Have Talent? to be performed Feb. 2-4 at the Winnetka Community House. While the kids are the stars of this musical — a spoof on reality television shows such as American Idol and Dancing With The Stars — it takes a family to actually produce the show. “It is a great experience for parents as well. Everybody becomes one great family,” Anne Loucks, president of the Children’s Hour board, told DailyNorthShore.com. The Winnetka Children’s Hour was founded in 1932 by parents looking for a way to keep children busy by providing weekend entertainment. “They wanted the kids to be occupied in a positive manner,” Loucks explained. Children could visit the Community House throughout the school year and watch live theatre, music and entertainers, as well as perform in their own musical production. Continued on PG 10
